Old Dominion in '26

Guessing it's still on Nov 21st, but at East Hartford.

I had the Temple and ODU game on the calendar to attend next year. Both are within a few hours from the house. I was excited to see our Huskies twice next year. Oh well, I’ll just have to bring the boys to East Hartford for a game……
ODU to Duke is only an additional three hours by car. Traveling to Duke is
another option

.-.
didn't we just have a 7-home-game season last year? when is the 5-home-game season coming?

If ODU now becomes an away game in '27, we only have four home games currently scheduled: Temple, Syracuse, Army, Delaware. There's one date left to fill which will obviously be a home game, but that's five at most.

7 Home games next fall

3 September home games
2 October
2 November

Nice distribution.

Biggest home gap is 10/3 - 10/24 with an away game and a bye week between 'cuse and UMass.

Another year with a 3 straight home game stretch.
This time to begin the season. If you’re gonna leave your grill and gear in the car/SUV leave the windows down.

2 trips to the Rockies for the UConn football equipment truck. Chri$tma$ comes early for the drivers.

Comparing this year to next:
From a P-4 perspective we have 4 instead of 3. MD and UNC much tougher than BC.
From a G-5 Wyoming, ODU, JMU AFA, UMass, Temple Mi OH better than
Delaware, Ball St, Buffalo, AFA, FIU, Rice, UAB. How much better is the question.

I think it's hard to project how good college football teams will be year to year in the portal era especially G5 schools. I would guess that Maryland and UNC will be better than this year and Syracuse will be about the same as when we played them when they had Agneli. Duke should be better with their QB back. And, who knows how good JMU will be if Chesney leaves. But, 5 out of the 7 G5 games are on the road and UConn did not play well on the road this year.

I think the home schedule will be very difficult. If we go 4-3 that will be an accomplishment. I don’t completely agree that we did not play well on the road. We have a game left, but if we win we went 3-3. All the losses in ot. Not great, especially the Delaware and Rice games, but not terrible either. I don’t love having to make 2 trips out west but I am hopeful we can go at least 3-2.

I am very worried about replacing our quarterback and best receiver. But I bet Mora will figure out something. Remember, he won 6 games with a redshirt #3 quarterback and #3 running back in year 1 and the best receiver who went out mid-season. The guy knows his stuff.
