Never thought we would be involved with this kid due to AO.

I really want us to lock down one more kid soon so we can see how this class is going to develop.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but FWIW, KO is now following Josh Perkins on Twitter and Josh Perkins is following back. That worked out for us with Rodney Purvis, so this should too. Right, guys...right?

Anyways, I like to see that we are still recruiting Goodluck. Hopefully we have a decent chance.

Heard yesterday that a dark horse in this one could be St. John's. Recently heard he has good relationship with Lavin who is is in constant contact with, and really likes SJU despite SJU not being mentioned just yet. I expect SJU to pop into his recruitment.

very nice!! Pass.

Why? He is a very good defender and rebounder. I think UConn gets a big in this class one way or the other.

Wouldn't be surprised, Lavin always recruits well. If he actually develops as a player under Lavin, that would be mind blowing.

Perkins would be my #1 priority. #2 would be a big that can step in and contribute right away. Ollie is doing an outstanding job of keeping us in the mix for some outstanding players.

Some interesting news here about Okonoboh from an interview on 247Sports. Lists UConn, disputes rumors that Indiana is the favorite, and says that he and Oriakhi are not close:

Who's recruiting you hardest?
There's a lot of schools recruiting me hard, but I mean, everybody on my list is recruiting me hard, in some type of way. I haven't really been focused on schools right now. I'm focused on getting better and I let my dad and coach handle all of that.

Well, what are some schools on your list?
Some schools that have offered me scholarships are Indiana, Syracuse, UConn, Cincinnati, Gonzaga, Florida, there's a long list.

......

Is it true that Indiana is your favorite?
No. You can get that on the record. (laughs) They're not my favorite.

......

Tell the audience about your family and also your cousin Alex Oriakhi, who just got drafted, but mostly your family.
I come from a real humble household. I mean, my parents are both Nigerian and, you know, nothing was given to me. I'm blessed to be around my mother and father.

Do you go back often to Nigeria?
Oh, no, I just went back when I was six.

I happened to grow up around some Nigerians. Where did you go? Lagos?
Yeah, Lagos, I went there. I went everywhere. I went to the country. I went into the villages. It was real. (laughs)

Well, maybe you'll go back someday. Oh, yeah, what about Oriakhi, does he give you any advice?
Oh, yeah, he gives me advice.

Are you two close?
No, we're not.

I mean, sometimes people say "cousin" and it doesn't mean anything.
(laughs) Yeah, definitely. I mean, I wouldn't say we're very close, but he's someone that I definitely talk to. I mean, I think he's going to do good in the NBA.

When I read it the 1st time thought he was sayin': "I think he is going to do doo-doo in the NBA".
