A little perspective, here:

At the start of this season many Boneyarders were predicting 4, 5, 6, even 7 losses this year.

It looked like a "down year" from what we have all been accustomed to.

The numbers -- standing alone -- forecast a season of sadness, one that would be hard to cheer about.

But here we are, five months later, with big smiles on our faces, and huge respect for the 2011-12 Huskies.

What have they done?

Lost four games -- one to St. Johns (ouch); and three to final four teams.

That's one loss to Baylor, and two losses to Notre Dame.

At the same time, we have two wins over final four teams: Notre Dame and Stanford.

By any standard, that is a hell of a good year.

And the irony is ------- that the St. John's loss was probably the best thing that happened to the Huskies all year. It contributed a lot to the greater intensity, focus, and execution that have helped the Huskies to become a dominating team over the past month. So, thanks Johnnies. We appreciate your help.

We are playing with "house money" now. Whether we win, lose, (or both) in Denver, it has been a GREAT year to be a UConn fan.
