Is the official start of practice next Thursday the 29th?

That's the earliest date it could start, but in the past it seems like they start a few days to a week after the earliest possible date.

The date to start was pushed to an earlier date but the number of practices allowed remained the same.

Yeah, apparently so. I'm remembering "midnight madness" when it kicked off the start of practice. My daughter, a grown woman, is coming home that weekend and wants to go. I didn't go last year and I'm quite happy I didn't.

Regular practices have already started. The start date is normally 42 days before the first official game, which is on November 10 this year.
