Which fingers do you use to show the value 3?

For me:
1 = Index
2 = Index + Middle
3 = Index + Middle + Ring
4 = Index + Middle + Ring + Little
5 = Index + Middle + Ring + Little + Thumb

In every country but this one I go 1) thumb, 2) thumb & index, 3) thumb-index-middle. And I NEVER do it the way Carlie is ("OK" sign) unless I'm underwater (universal scuba OK sign). It's an extremely insulting gesture in many countries, and nowadays can be interpreted as a white supremacy gesture in this country.

I still use the ok sign, I'm truly sorry that disgusting people have tried to co-opt it, but in case you missed it Lebron James used it during this past season (to mean ok). In general, I'm all for removing insulting behavior from my life, but I was raised using that symbol for ok quite regularly, it was a quirk of my father. It extended to a form of "I Love You", between him and my mother.

Of course, that is only in this country. I also knew someone of non-American heritage that indeed found it insulting (and I never used it around them).

In the US, I do the Boy Scout 3. In Denmark it is always thumb , index, middle. In China they count to 9 on one hand and 10 to 90 on the other. 3 is the OK sign. Just the thumb is 5. Holding all 5 fingers out is 9. OK on your left hand with your right hand in a fist is 30. OK on both hands is 33.

Also, a Roman walks into a bar and holds 2 fingers and says, “Give me 5 beers.”
