We ought to genocide all the hand wringers and pearl clutchers. I hope all you feel silly; especially you morons who were calling Dan Hurley’s character into question over simply entertaining the prospect of coaching the Lakers for 15 million a year. He turned it down after a cup of coffee. He’s not leaving UConn unless it’s the Knicks or Celtics.

Yee of little faith, enter here and beg forgiveness. You deserve at least a week-long ban

I'll step up. I questioned his statement about "if you're unsure then you shouldn't leave" advice to AK.
it seemed Dan Hurley was unsure but still went through the process. It bothered me.
I never questioned his character or integrity for a minute.
But I'll take my lumps for questioning that morsel. Do what you will with me

Get your info straight and be happy he is back. Stop the childish condemnation crap. Lakers never intimated 15million pal.

Woops guess it was just under 12 million lol my bad

Anything else you have to say? I’m sure, given your illustrious posting history, you were never of the voices of madness in that disgrace of the thread

There were comments along the lines of “Hurley is a dick for even considering [the job]” and we do not need those people around here

I saw a bunch of those.
I just wanted to come clean for even doubting his process for a minute. I love the man dearly. So can I call my wife and kid and tell them I'll be coming home tonite?

You posted a lot and had your ups and downs but I wouldn't put you in that category!

I thought it would be tough to find people, easy to get lost amidst 4K+ posts in 4 days. Luckily some of them have continued to bash him even after coming back so they can be easily shamed

Run it by her boyfriend as well.

I confess, to being critical of Hurley hypothetically if he in fact did take the job in June with the new rules in place allow the entire team to transfer out which they would have every right to do but players on other teams couldn’t transfer in even if they wanted to that would’ve potentially made it possible for UConn to not even field a team never mind a marginally competitive team. I never blamed him for listening and I even said I’d probably go for it if I was in his position. I have the utmost respect for him but the way this was potentially going to go down there had to be a better way or time to do this than annihilate the program you rebuilt. And hes the man and didn’t disappoint. Has a better man than me and most of us for how he handled this situation.

I would like to say I am pretty sure I did not bash Hurley. while I did say it was disastrous if he left, I don't recall bashing him for the potential choice

@DogMania @djct1999 @bendm

Are 3 that come to the top of my mind. I’m sorry, genuinely, for naming you. But all 3 questioned his integrity BEFORE any decision was made. Disappointing because I respect all of you as posters and your opinion.
I'm excited that Danny is staying. I've always liked him and don't recall questioning his integrity. I just didn't like that he seriously considered LA when so many, both players and staff, decided to be part of the 2024-25 run for a 3-peat.

Just never seemed like the right time or opportunity, and I'm sure I'm not alone feeling this way. I never assumed that he'd take the Laker offer. It always made sense that he'd stay, but he seemed to seriously consider the LA job. Many posted that if he were to leave, they felt that he wasn't the Danny Hurley we thought we knew. He's staying and I'm just as excited as everyone else.

Whew!

I can't wait until the first Yarder posts that Hurley should be fired next season.
Lol does anyone actually believe this is going to happen?

Don’t believe I did any Hurley bashing. But my posts have been misunderstood before.

I did comment on the idea that he was using this process with the Lakers to create leverage on negotiating an extension or new contract. That may not have been correct.

It seems he could’ve been truly considering the job and not using this as much as he could’ve been as leverage in negotiating his new deal.

The two chips more than likely created all the leverage he needed.

Happy he decided to stay and go for the three-peat.
