Annette and Darlene Gillespie were THE Mouseketeers of my youth. And thanks to them I was very aware of the new Disneyland going up in Anaheim when we visited LA in 1955. I was lucky enough to be there on opening day.

I remember watching with adolescent fascination over the years as the
"Annette" on the front of her Mouseketeer outfit grew to "ANNETTE".

Wire Chief, I had the same crush. Darlene was adorable. And I was crushed years later when I found out that Darlene got into a lot of trouble with the law.

I was wondering about Annette a couple months ago because she has been out of the spotlight so long and went to her board on IMDB.com. There was a link to a video that aired on TV in Canada that showed Annette in her current state last year at home being cared for by her husband. I almost wished I hadn't clicked on it. What a horrible horrible disease MS is.
