Nurse will not travel with Team Canada to Europe

Team Canada just completed a training camp in Edmonton and will now embark on a brief European tour beginning Saturday. According to Jim Fuller, Kia participated in the training camp but will not travel with the team to Europe. The team says Kia will be taking this stage off. Good call. Kia has played a lot of basketball and undoubtedly needs the rest.

Team Canada will travel to China later in June and then reconvene in Edmonton in July in preparation for the FIBA AmeriCup in Buenos Aires in August (7-13). This is a qualifying tournament for the FIBA Women's World Cup in Spain in 2018.

I raised this in another thread. I believe the Italy trip is Aug 12-23. My guess is Kia joins the team in Italy but sits out in favor of the younger guards who need the experience more than she does.

Smart move, no need to overdue it. Gotta get ready for a great senior season, then 2018 draft which im sure she will be a high pick in April next year.
