We are now 1 out with 7 to play. Four of those are at home, and two of the three road games are against bottom feeders. It is time to put away what a nice story we are, and how much we've over performed this year, and go for the friggin jugular.

The revenge for the postseason ban -- the revenge for being left out of conference realignment -- is to win a league consisting of teams that abandoned you and voted against you for their own purposes. Yes, I know when you go "all in" emotionally you can get hurt, but it's time.

We are only one out on the loss side. Our remaining schedule is easier than the three teams (Georgetown, Syracuse and Marquette) that have one less loss. Yes, I recognize the enormous holes this team has on paper, but the odds are extremely strong that 6-1 from here on will get us at least a tie for the conference championship. And, other than the road game at Cincy, we should be favored or toss-ups in the other six.

We may fall short. And falling short will not in any way limit the job KO has done this year. But I am not worried from here on in about "moral victories" or "playing well" or "number of wins." There is one championship no one can take away from us. We are UConn. I want to win it very badly.

I don't think KO or any player on this team is contented with the "nice story" we are. They want the title and speak about it openly.

Me, I just want to enjoy every game free from the weight of expectations. I'd love the BE regular season title, but I'm not going to let that desire ruin my enjoyment of this team.

To each their own, but you can't get the full emotional benefits of a title if you're not willing to bear the weight of expectations.

I see no reason why they can't. This is a statement season for UConn. What bigger statement is there for our team than 2013 Big East reg. season Champs! Let's win the rest! 14-4 and 24-6, top 15 ranking would be the best ever. Ten toes in! As Patches O'houlihan once said " you can do it, I believe in you"

Just imagine if we'd executed in the last 10 seconds against Marquette. We'd be tied for the lead and in control of our own destiny.

I'm sorry but if they won the Big East regular season this year after all the transfers and other adversity , I'd have to rank it amongst some of the programs greatest accomplishments. For me it would be at least as good as that NIT championship .

I don't know if that's true because I've never had no expectations before. I will say that the 2011 BET and NC was very enjoyable for me precisely because it was so unexpected (for me). I fully admit that, going into the 2011 BET, I did not expect to win it. And after that, I did not expect to make it to the FF, much less the NC. But I attended and enjoyed it immensely when we won.

I'm just kind of enjoying it this season, that's all. It feels nice for a change not to have my mood ruined for hours or days after a loss. And I'll sure be tickled if we get the lagniappe of a BE regular season title.

One of the best things about winning the title would be that it would be a nice kick in the nuts to the powers that be.

Lagniappe? Really? The word implies something cheap that is given as a token of appreciation, rather than something of value that is earned. The last "real" Big East Championship is no lagniappe.

People were saying a week or 2 ago that this season doesn't compare to the Dream Season. If we win the Big East title. This is up there with the Dream Season! I said it !!!!

This team probably could be 21-2 right now. But hey, we'll be lucky to be in the NCAAs next year. (sarcasm alert)

UCONN is in the hunt. The chances that they win, or tie, for the top of the BE is very slim. Not saying it's impossible, but let's be honest - the team has so outperformed what any reasonable person could have hoped for that anything they do is just gravy.

Hell yea we can talk about it. Looking back at the games, the Marquette one really hurts but time to move forward. I highly doubt that the top 3 teams finish the rest of the season w/out a loss. If UConn is able to win out I think they get a share of it.

If Kentan turns out to be a SOLID rebounder and tyler excels at the 4 we can be a top 10 team next year....easily BE tournament winner

cuse still has to play gtown twice, @marq and louisville. gtown plays cuse twice, and road games against us cincy and nova. marquette has to play pitt, cuse, ND, @ Nova and @SJU. then theres all of the 4-loss teams, the finish should be crazy. Id go so far as to say with that Marquette win we would be the favorites

This game is exhibit A for the potential benefits of a season with no expectations. A loss like this in any other season would have me slaughtering kittens.

Now I'll just maim them.

UConn could still win a share of the Big East regular season championship. We just need Gtown, Marquette, and Cuse to lose 2 games, and Louisville to lose 1 game. And we need to win the rest. Piece of cake right?

But in all seriousness, if that scenario did unfold, would Marquette and Louisville beat us in a tie breaker since they beat us and we don't play them twice? Or would Marquette need to lose 3 games and Louisville lose 2 games?
