Nova and Creighton games sold out!

very nice. I am thinking about going to Providence for UConn's road game, I am not sure. I wish it was on the weekend instead of a Wednesday night.

Have you ever gone to the Xavier-Cinncinati derby (that's a soccer term for crosstown rivalry :))? Xavier has owned the BearCats :)
Have not and looking forward to it! Love seeing the Bearcats get rocked by Xavier. They had a whole thread on one of the AAC sites I believe where they blame the losses on the "Catholic Refs" that throw the games to Xavier. Their heads are a bit large from their days in the AAC and it will be fun watching them become mediocre again in the Big 12.

This might be a weird take on this but I'm glad they are sold out, fans should be, but the fact we are advertising it seems a little cupcake to me. We are better than this IMO. Expectations at least outwardly should be our games are always sold out!

It's just being leveraged in the post to push fans to buy tickets to the other games (i.e. tickets are going fast), which outside Marquette, weird as they could be #2 in Big East, and DePaul are basically sellouts already. I wouldn't read into it too much.

Will be at the nova game with a group of 6. Virginia resident, first time going to XL, any bar recommendations close to XL?

Wasn't if freescooter earlier this season who said UConn can never sell out games? Win and they will come.

Btw, is it a coincidence that UConn is rolling and he hasn't posted since November 26? At least when I searched for him that is the last post that came up. What a fraud fan he is.
He will be back (along with all the newbies posters)after the first loss, be it Saturday or next year

Russian Lady and Tavern are literally right next door. City steam a bit longer of a walk but pretty close as well.

I'll second the Tavern. Large beer selection but it will be a madhouse. I kinda like that before the big game. We don't plan on eating downtown anymore; it can be inconsistent unless you're one of the first orders in. One food option is going inside early and getting a brisket sandwich from Bear's. Excellent IPA selection inside as well.

I've been to all of the big games at the HCC/XL going back to Corny Thompson. Last year's Villanova game was nothing like I've experienced before at that venue. It was totally nuts!

It was a great atmosphere, overall one of the best I've been part of, but I'll say those few minutes after Hurley got ejected were the loudest I've ever heard the crowd at any game I've ever been to for any sport.
