37-29 OSU at the half. Beavers have led wire to wire, up by as much as 10 a couple times. Both teams hitting the offensive glass and getting put backs. Gulic from OSU and Shepard from ND have pretty much canceled each other out, only 2 points combined. ND has the higher profile players, but the best player on the court so far has been OSU soph Mikayla Pivec. Chilly shooting by ND (31%), somehow that usually happens to teams that play OSU. Pretty clean game, each team w/ only 4 TO's (I think Maryland vs. UConn had more than that in the first 3 minutes of the 1st quarter!).

Jeez, the Irish came roaring back from an 11 point deficit to take a 3 point lead, mostly behind Jackie Young (9 points in 5 minutes). OSU now back on top 52-51 after 3 Q. Ogbonwale and Mabrey both not looking very good today.

Not quite a sellout, but almost 8000. Not bad for a an 11 am start time on a Sunday morning.

21 o boards for ND and 47-36 rebound advantage. Offset a big advantage for OSU in 3 point shooting--9-24 vs. 2-4. Young led the way w/ 21points. Ogonbowale w/ 15 but only 5-18 from the floor. For OSU Pivec had 19 w/ 8 boards and 6 assists. Big contribution from Kalmer w/ 12 off the bench. Missed opportunity for a big win by the Beavers. But they showed they are still a team to be reckoned with.

Huh, Ogunbowale was 5/18. Very few assisting in this game.

I wasn't able to watch this game, but just checking in on the score. Tough loss for Oregon State. I know they wanted this one, and they were up 8 at the half. ND outscored OSU 43-30 in the second half.

But still, an impressive showing by OSU, considering what they lost last year and the overall lack of experience for their players aside from Gulich and Pivec.

Coming-out party for Jackie Young: 21 points, 8 rebounds to carry ND when nobody else for them played particularly well. I do see that freshman Mikayla Vaughn had 8 points and 7 rebounds in just 16 minutes of action. She is a player to watch.

Pivec is good. I can see why Tara wanted her, and I guess, score one for Dan Olsen. He/ESPN was the only recruiting service to have her ranked pretty high (#26). PN had her at #52, BS #93 and IIRC pretty low by ASGR too. OSU is a well coached team.

A lot of standing around by the Oregon St players when the game came closer. ND was the more aggressive team. Oregon St started to rely on their 3 point shooters instead of working the ball for high percentage shots. Good win for ND.

Definitely too much standing around, especially when a ball handler picked up her dribble. I really like Rueck as a coach, but sometimes his offenses get stagnant, been an issue for years. Even during the Weisner/Wiese/Hamblin years.

Oregon's spacing and ball movement stinks starting the 2nd half. Not enough talking, not enough looking for one another, not enough energy, not enough boxing out. Not enough. Team have to learn that when your alpha dog is getting shut down you have to have a plan B that works.

I think she's a star in the making. There were signs last year. She is STRONG! Threw javelin in high school, I think she might've done it last year at OSU as well. I think there were at least 3 times today she just ripped a rebound away from an opponent.

Washington State didn't get off to a great start, losing badly at UC Davis and then at St. Mary's — both quality teams, to be sure, but teams WSU should be better than. I think they're still trying to reestablish their chemistry after getting back those four injured players.

This game is a golden opportunity for the Cougs.

Thanks for the info. I thought I was going to be shut out. Get to see the 4th quarter. Louisville looks good. Up 64-53 with 7+ left. Ionescu getting hot but seems to have a disturbing pattern of starting very slow and only heating up in the 2nd half.
