Michigan is shooting themselves in the foot with all the turnovers and poor FT shooting.

76-72 ND final. Unbelievable

There were some large disparities in this games:
- FG%: 50% (ND) to 33%
- Rebounds: 53 (MI) to 24
- Fouls: 26 (ND) to 16
- Steals: 17 (ND) to 8

Destinee Walker was the difference. 9-14 (5-8 from 3).

Seems the rumors of the Irish demise have been grossly exaggerated. Just like too many horror movies, you need to put the bullet between the eyes, stake through the heart or behead the beast to truly kill it and not have it come back to life! Love her or hate her, she can coach. Going to be a curious year with her and this team.

I know. I didn't think this Irish team was capable of 76 points against a ranked team!
Not ranked for long. Notre Dane is now the team that makes other teams unranked.

And while not spectacular, the 70% from the free throw line is an improvement for the Irish. In a 4-pt. win, that helps. Peoples 75% is by far her best of the season.
Sniezek: 2-2
Peoples: 3-4
Gilbert: 4-6
Walker: 4-6
Brunelle: 1-2

The difference was Mich going 2-13 in the 4th period along with bad ft shooting. Sometimes nerves take over when leading a nemesis late in a game.

This word gets very overused in sports, but this is just choking, no two ways about it. It happened to North Carolina A&T yesterday against Miami, and it happened to Michigan today.

Michigan missed 15 free throws and committed 24 turnovers in a 4-point loss. Yikes.

So, does this move ND into the top 25 next week?

Notre Dame was the top team receiving votes in the AP poll last week, and only 6 points behind #25. This will almost definitely move them into the top 25. Michigan should drop out IMO, but it might hinge on what other teams in the vicinity have done.

If MICH shoots better than the anemic 58% at the FT line, they win. 21-36 . Usually it's ND that gets all the free throws.

Is it?

Well I like beating Michigan more than I liked having Clouden and Davis getting honored for beating ND.

Losing to Tennessee and having it called and upset was a real double whammy of annoyance.

I'd rather be properly seen as an underdog against ranked teams than incorrectly seen as a favorite who it is a huge accomplishment to beat.

Tennessee has had a knack lately of benefiting from other teams' overratedness. A couple years ago in early December they beat a then-#2 (but grossly overrated) Texas team in possibly the ugliest game in the history of the sport. Now they fortuitously catch Notre Dame in mid-November at its lowest point in god knows how many years.

Took till page for a comment that Notre dame had slot less ft attempts than its opponent how unusual
