On Swain's tweets the following appeared; RT "@darrenrovell: With BCS bid on the line, only 2.6% of NYC was watching #Rutgers game on ESPN last night." // Ouch

whats 2.6% of 9 million? i would say thats a good chuck of fans for a game involving a team(lville) no one cares about in nyc. now insert psu or michigan in that slot and just a regular season game....

It's about a quarter million, or only twice as many as would watch PennState play virtually anybody live at Beaver Stadium. Also it's a stretch to say they don't care about UofL there. Obviously they're not a favorite but you make it like they were playing a meaningless game against Western Kentucky. They were playing a de facto championship game against a "long time football heavyweight:rolleyes:".

2.3% of NYC DMA or NYC itself? Also, I'd be interested to see how many in the same sample size were watching the NFL game, much less a fairly irrelevant one to either NYC NFL team. I wouldn't be shocked if the number were higher.

And UConn athletics have probably had about 15-20 hours of programming on SNY this week. But we're just a small little TV market in Hartford.

Doesn't matter who watches. It matters how many people they can force the big 10 Network on. They make $$$ if no one ever tuned in to a Rutgers game for the next 5o years
