COURANT SPORTS ALERT: NCAA upholds original ruling: No postseason for Huskies in 2012-13.

"3.Data used in making decisions on penalties or eligibility for postseason competition should be as close as practicable in time to the implementation of those decisions"

Tell me again why they can't use last year's data?

Anyone who tries to find logic in this will come up short. There is none. They made a rule that made it mathematically impossible for us to qualify, and stuck with it over every objection.

+1

I am of the mindset that we move on. We have learned something from this situation. Now we just put it behind us. Regroup. Use this season to re-tool the program. Find hard and land some decent, loyal, commited players.

Hopefully they work on a lot of new stuff. Get the chemistry locked and win the big east title. Come back next win the whole damn thing. Why not

Any why exactly does college sports need the NCAA?
They need it to help Kentucky, North Carolin, and Duke to have an easier trip to the final four. Knock out Uconn and their pets have a free ride.

We haven't got much choice, except to move on, thanks to the selective punishment that the GesNCAAtappo has imposed.

It would be GREAT if the team were to qualify for the NCAA tournament by any reasonable measure. It will bring down a lot of scrutiny of the NCAA and that would be the perfect time to point out that this rule is keeping kids, who have a great APR, out of the tournament because of the APR posted by kids that are no longer on the team. Then we could push the fact that the NCAA is using older data even though newer data is available. Finally, we could point out the fact that they punished UConn for the score of these former players by reducing scholarships and then punished the team a SECOND time by changing the rule/punishment and applying it retroactively. What the NCAA is doing is so un-American it isn't even funny.

I still say if Herbst does not sue, UConn receives no money from me while she is in power. This is ridiculous.
