Northwestern loses to DePaul (77-64) and Miami to Baylor (88-81)

Neither are bad losses. However it shows Northwestern is not ready for Prime Time. The Miami vs Baylor game ended up closer then I thought it would be.

Now we can add Oregon State to the mix of the no longer Undefeated as they lose to the Lady Vols in a game they should have won. Too much reliance on the 3 Point shot and tonight they didn't fall in a high enough of percentage for the win.

Oregon will rue this particular loss. I don't think it will change the LV's tragectory one bit.

Whoa...you're telling me. OSU shot 16.7% (4 for 24) from 3-point land. Their guard, Jamie Wessner, went 0-10. They outrebounded the LV, 48-33, but couldn't get it over the hump when they cut it to one a few times. Hamblin only shot 8 times so LV must've collapsed on her and virtually dared the Beavers to beat them from outside. Depending on whether Bre Turner comes back for Notre Dame, this could be a totally different approach when OSU goes to South Bend on Dec. 28th.

Even while those teams were undefeated, they were still winning at least one game by fewer than 11 points. That makes them not as great as Uconn 2013-2014, not even potentially.

When Oregon State got the ball 2:05 left with a chance to take the lead, they didn't look for Hamblin. Instead they Jacked up outside shots that didn't fall. If they played a more rounded game utilizing all of their players(weapons) they would have won the game. Too Much Reliance on the 3 point shot. If they make their 3 point shots they're a dangerous team, if not they're an ordinary team and will lose like they did yesterday. In the 2nd half Mercedes Russell disappeared and Hamblin could have scored if she got more touches. The Lady Vols scored 8 points in the 4th Quarter, Oregon State should have won the game.

Glad to see Depaul really thumped Northwestern. Aside from the 3rd quarter, Depaul really thumped them for the rest of the game. Depaul is a good team...

Thanks for the report....maybe they were too keyed up? Certainly didn't seem like LV were applying the close out at the end by only scoring 8 points in the last quarter.
