OT: North Carolina-Will the NCAA Ever Finish its Investigation?

It has been years since the news broke about the abuses at UNC with sports and class attendance, falsification of grade point averages etc. This institution has seemingly received a giant pass while other schools are punished. Now that the men's team has won the national championship, will the media put the pressure on?

Nope. Nothing will happen to them. The NCAA is gonna wait this one out. Once the story ages enough no one will remember or care. That's not to say the NCAA isn't working hard on the issues plaguing collegiate sports. For example, the UConn men's team is about to be banned from the tourney for the next 10 years because of a possible recruiting violation when the school provided free jelly and cream cheese for bagels - a serious violation with severe consequences.

Well the UConn penalty makes sense. Everyone knows that it is not appropriate to put jelly on a bagel.

Dadgummit, doesn't everybody know that Roy Williams has his own personal get out of jail free card from the NCAA? He's laughing all the way back to Mayberry RFD.

Less will come from this particular NCAA whitewash than the 5+ year long Corey Maggette 'investigation' (using that term very loosely). All Roy has to do is say "Golly, gee whiz, shucks...I didn't know anything about anything!" And just like Coach Ratface, he gets a free pass.

It has been interesting to see some rather large headlines related to this tournament about how UNC as potential and now champion is the perfect reflection of the NCAA - that has to sting those in the NCAA offices just a little, detracting from their organizations biggest yearly celebration.

What investigation? This is a "Blue Blood" program. UNC is gonna get away with a slap on the wrist for what they did for 10-20 years. Now if this was Sweetwater University in Southeast Texas or Southeast University in Portland Maine. Now they would get the Death Penalty. But not good old boy UNC.
