The OP stated current ACC team.
And I want to remind the OP that the ACC existed long before ND arrived on the scene 7 years ago. I would also remind that esteemed poster that in 18 years of the Big East ND won only 1 NCAA title. Won only 2 Conference titles and shared one. So if we want to write or rewrite history, let’s just get ALL the facts out there...

Once again the universe has punished me for not predicting a Notre Dame win.

I feel such guilt.

On a day when Louisville finally got their 1st ACC title outright which ND had won the title (outright or shared)
the last 6 seasons, it was nice for ND to have a comfortable win over North Carolina, the only other current ACC team to have ever won a National Championship. Maybe Louisville or some other ACC team can do it this year since ND won't be in the way.
Ha so does the fact that North Carolina won a title in the year of nineteen ninety-four really make this win so extra sweet for a losing-record Notre Dame team to beat another team with a losing record in the ACC?

Nineteen ninety-four -- the year before Geno won the first of his ELEVEN national championships?

Just making sure I understand.

I think Brenda Friese and Jeff Walz want to remind you of 2006 Maryland Title...
Domerduck did say current ACC team. I guess everything comes down to one-upmanship and semantics.

Oh...poor Louisville. Having to share an ACC title for years...before finally getting one of their own. My goodness...the agony.

Try waiting 30 years, as an original conference member, seeing all these other teams intrude on your turf, coming up close several times but always falling short...and get back to me.

Until then...no sympathy for either one of these programs.

You understand correctly, plus since they are the last current Big10 team to win (even if it was when they were in the ACC at the time), they might as well rep their new conference. Maybe they can win one while they are in their new conference, but we will see. Only Muffer and Geno have won NC's while in two different conferences. Brenda has a chance to duplicate Muffet's feat if she can win one soon. Maybe this year as a #1 seed, but she does have to get past one of those lower seeded PAC12 teams that seem to have her number (like the 7 seeded Huskies in 2016, 10th seeded Ducks, and 6th seeded Bruins last year. We will see.

Muffet agrees with you.

Muffet agrees with you.
That's good to know. So she agrees that this was just one crummy team outside the top 100 beating another crummy team outside the top 100.

Us domers were so sorry to rain on UConn's parade that 2001 with our 1 litlle NC title while in the Big East. It did keep DT from winning all 4 or Geno getting 5 in a row, which he has never done. We bow down to your UConn superiority.

BTW we did enjoy keeping you from winning the Big East title or tourney, the last time we both were in the Big East (Breanna's 1st year). I know that year you got back at us in the Final 4, it's hard to beat a team 4 times in 1 season. You finally can go back next year to the Big East win that conference championship again.

Well, this thread certainly took a ... turn.

I've seen my fair share of trash-talking over the years, but this is the first time I've seen someone try to make a UConn fan feel bad because Geno has failed to win 5 national titles in a row

Let's all just take a deep breath and return to topic. Let's all get back to wildly celebrating the fact that Notre Dame just beat a sub-100 team that was playing without their best player :D

Did you not read that "We bow down to your UConn superiority." How is that trash talking, just pointing out that ND is a little annoying gnat that a few times disrupted some of the perfection UConn would have otherwise achieved. I don't think any other Big East school ever even achieved "gnat" status at least during this century. In fact I'd say that other Big East school that made it to a final 4, L'ville, did UConn a favor by beating a Greiner led Baylor team prior to that 2013 Final Four.

I know the AAC gave UConn no challenges given the lack of even 1 victory. Maybe the new Big East will provide some competition. Hopefully ND can continue to provide some OOC challenges in the future, but certainly didn't do it this year.
