I have to say ND is on a roll right now and NC is not. Which Bailey shows up tonight could be the determining factor.
Neither version of Bailey might not be available to play. She didn't play in UNC's previous game against Wake Forest against due to a leg injury. I can imagine that ND guard Destinee Walker will be fired up to play against her former team.

Agreed. MM pretty much said the same thing about Bailey on her radio show on Monday night.

MM also gave kudos to Courtnehy Banghart as a coach, referring back to her work at Princeton.

Using that as a segue, that work at Princeton -- particularly on the recruiting front -- can still bear fruit, for either Princeton and/or North Carolina. Top PG prospect Olivia Miles (from western NJ) has gone on record as saying that if Banghart had not left Princeton, she (Miles) would've already committed there; in part, so her parents could see her play a lot. As it is, both Princeton and North Carolina are two of her finalists, as are Notre Dame, UConn, Oregon and Stanford.

Sonia Citron was also targeted heavily by Princeton, and she, too, has offers from the Tigers and the Tar Heels. And there is apparently huge mutual interest between Stanford and Notre Dame as well.

I'm sure Coach Banghart will using her familiarity with the Middle Atlantic states for years to come...

She was on the MM Radio program, as well, and while she acknowledges she knows several of the players (Bailey's name came up) very well, she also pointed out that she has not really played for the Tar Heels in two seasons. Still, I'll be that there will be some nervousness on the first few dribbles and shots.

BTW, Destinee seems like a very level-headed, genuinely nice person who is quite happy in her current situation and plans on applying for one more year of play in South Bend. She and fellow radio guest Katie Cole were interviewed by Sam Brunelle, who has a segment on the radio broadcast.

Walker has come on in the absence of People's and she should get another year of eligibility. I know depth is an issue for NC this year (like the ND fan will sympathize!) and I think the trend is definitely up for the Tar Heels and with luck, Courtney will up their OOC as Sylvia was very lazy with that. I think for Princeton, they need to show they can get to a Sweet 16 this year with Bella and that would prove to some of the peripheral recruits that they will get the exposure they need. ND obviously has openings even with it's top 5 class next year, however Stanford seems to have too many players to fit into the mix so I find that situation interesting. BTW, what will ND for a point guard next year? The 1-time transfer proposal might benefit ND more than MM thinks.

Anybody voting for the team in light blue is just doing it outta spite. ND is gonna crush them. Guaranteed. If this game were played in January.. it probably be a different story..... but the team in light blue is running on fumes right now.

I just made a comment on the transfer thread. MM might not be in favor of it, but her boss, Dr. Jack Swarbrick, is in favor of the proposal. And if it goes through the meetings in April, it will apparently go into place for the 2020-21 academic year. Does that mean those who transfer can play that year? Or the whole process starts in August/September (from entering the portal to transferring to being elligble?).

If MM can't get an immediate waiver (outside of a grad transfer), I think she'll stay homegrown and try to fina Marina Mabrey candidate from one her combo guards for 2020-21 to combine with Alasia Hayes who, herself, will be segueing from being a combo guard to a point guard (Can't begin to tell you how the Caitlin Clark sh+%storm messed up that position). My guess -- and many of those at the Bench -- is that Kaitlyn Gilbert will fill that role. She's got a good handle, has looked helping Marta Sniezek break presses recently and her mid-range jumper is good (enough) for a point guard. Anaya Peoples can help down low and is probably better served doing that.

Would Mabry III helped if she went to ND or is she a 2 as well?

Sitting on the train for the 4 hour commute home and a young women next to me says, “hey, are you a women’s basketball fan?” “Why” I ask as I have the Duke- VPI game on my ipad, my UConn women’s hoop hat on my head, the Louisville BC game playing on my iPhone. She says, “oh I went to ND and loves MM...”
As
Our esteemed @triaddukefan says “Lawd hammercy”

On a day when Louisville finally got their 1st ACC title outright which ND had won the title (outright or shared)
the last 6 seasons, it was nice for ND to have a comfortable win over North Carolina, the only other current ACC team to have ever won a National Championship. Maybe Louisville or some other ACC team can do it this year since ND won't be in the way.

I can. Deja Kelly ought to be in an ND uniform next year.

Amazing how a change in OV itineraries might've set things in motion....

I think Brenda Friese and Jeff Walz want to remind you of 2006 Maryland Title...
