Syracuse with a 40-37 lead at the half. Glad I checked the BY; I was about to watch "Gunsmoke" but saw this game was on at NOON???

Head scratcher about what UNC is doing. Bailey playing on the wing, well away from the basket. Is that on purpose?

Syracuse wins running away, 88-76, outscoring the Tar Heels 32-11 down the stretch. 3 Ls in a row for UNC, which was held scoreless for the last five minutes of this one.

Double doubles for both Cardoso and Engstler--10/16 and 11/13. I'm really surprised Engstler is coming off the bench. She was a starter from day 1 wasn't she? Now an upperclassman. Tiana w/ 19 pts/13 assists.

Engstler started zero games during the 18-19 season, playing 14.3 MPG, but started all 31 games in 19-20 while doubling playing time to 28.7 MPG.

She missed the first two games due to injury and is yet to crack the starting lineup, but is playing roughly starter minutes at 22.7 MPG.

Perhaps more importantly than being a starter, she's in at crunch times....at least in the few games I've watched them from start to finish. She's in much better physical condition and seems to be enjoying herself. Really interesting player...you can tell she was the biggest kid on the court growing up and hasn't lost that swag, while developing some acute ball-handling responsibilities.

I look forward to when ND goes to Syracuse because I'll bet a bottom dollar she and Maddy Westbeld match up. Should be fun.

This will be huge for her. Her length and mobility amazes me.

I can definitely see her and Westbeld being an interesting match up. I'm also curious as to how she would fair when Syracuse face NC State. I'm trying to envision who would guard her as I'm assuming Cardoso would be matched up with Cunane when she's on the court.

I was really puzzled by UNC's offensive strategy in the 4th quarter of this game. Janelle Bailey, who had been so dominant in the 3rd quarter, was moved to the wings for most of the 4th quarter, and UNC had very little inside presence. When Bailey DID get open, she missed all of her shots in that stanza. Was moving Bailey out of the post really what Coach Banghart intended? Just seemed sort of bizarre, considering the weapon she has with Janelle Bailey.
