Our UConn Bball memories could fill Hawley Armory.

What are some of your favorite CBB stories/memories that didn't involve the Huskies?

I saw my first big east game live at Alumni hall. St John's v Seton hall.
I used to read "The National" sports daily every morning before 6th grade class started and followed all the stars of that time. I was a big Malik Sealy fan and to see him and Lamont Middleton up close, for an 11 year old felt like a dream.

I was 14 in 1990. Absolutely hated Duke and loved when UNLV waxed them. The Arizona run with Miles Simon was entertaining. Vermont beating exCuse was nice too.

Back in the early 90s some colleagues from work and I were having dinner in a restaurant in Harrisonburg Va. In walks JMU coach Lefty Driesell a couple of really tall dudes and Tark. At one point we all put our white napkins in our mouths until Tark noticed it was a good laugh!!

1981 Final Four in Philly. My best friends fathers boss was UNC's biggest booster (the pool in named after him, he asked the arena be named for Dean Smith). 10th row seats, mid court. 2 rows in front of Ray Meyer. We didn't go back Monday because his father figured it would be postponed because Reagan got shot.

UMBC not only beating Virginia to become the first 16 to win against a 1, but absolutely annihilating them in the process. I think we all knew the 1-seed winning streak was going to end soon, but I can't imagine anyone thought it would be done so emphatically.

Rumeal Robinson free throws, and I love the Bo Kimble and Hank Gathers LMU teams. The Michigan seton hall was first tournament I watched

I do remember Syracuse and Ronny Seikaly, but more so that tournament run with Steve Fischer.

Richmond knocking off (I believe) two seeded Syracuse in the first round about 35 years ago was a nice memory. Vermont knocking them off in the first round twenty years ago also was pretty nice.

I remember eating anchovies with cream cheese on Ritz crackers with my dad watching Villanova vs GTown in 1985 and rooting hard for GTown. First time I remember being really upset watching sports.

Very pissed when Michigan beat Seton Hall in the NC game in 1989.

Same tournament, rooting for Illinois vs Syracuse. I liked that Illinois team.

It's strange because I feel like I was hooked on cbb after watching the 1985 NC game, but I have no memory of watching the NC games in 86, 87, or 88. I vaguely remember seeing the front page of the local newspaper in 1988 with Danny Manning on it.

15 seed Lehigh knocking off 2 seed Duke in the 2012 tourney. Closing minute and Duke was in a fouling situation. The Lehigh coach had obviously told his players not to embaras Duke if they won and save it for the locker room. So the big Leigh kid that got fouled is walking the length of the court to take his foul shots and you could see him struggling not to break out in a big smile and start laughing. Great TV.

Also loved the St Peters Peacocks knocking off Kentucky and Perdu enriute to an elite eight.

Then a year after getting bounced by a small school from Jersey they enter the tourney as a 1 seed and lose to 16 seed Fairleigh Dickenson.

Sitting behind the hoop at MSG in 2005 and watching Jared Dudley walk off the court after BC got beat with his head down and a sign above him that said ACC-ya Later.

I loved it at the time. 20 years later it now saddens me thinking of the college sports landscape we’re living in.
