That said, on hypothetical basis, the devil is always in the details, right?  So what would the big 12 offer us the "Notre Dame deal"?  20% of their $31 million value for all sports would be 6 1/2 million dollars.  That's not enough. In fact it's barely break even after you consider the additional expenses, of what we're currently making in the Big East.  We could actually make more money by returning to the American for all sports.

Now if they want to offer us 20 million for our basketball only? God bless, of course we would take that, but that makes zero sense from their perspective.  On the other hand if they offered us 20 million for a full membership with a path to a full share, and we'd have to consider it.

Again, the devil's in the details.
