I have no idea what to make of the last 1o pages or so of...well, I don't know what that was. What I do know is that not a lot has changed from the various predatory conferences (SEC, BIG, PAC) contemplating various scenarios to increase their own value and revenue streams at the potential expense of the donor conferences (AAC, ACC, B12). Things I also know: UConn hockey is not leaving Hockey East on its own unless as a precursor to a full B1G invite. ND just showed you why. Hockey travel is different. You play two games, sometimes on back to back nights which doesn't happen in FB. The travel party is a lot bigger than in BB and the other olympic sports. So, flying to every game is a big deal. ASU has to deal with that because they are in the desert and want to play hockey for some reason. Every B1G would make one trip, so not a huge burden for them. HE is a bus league and UConn isn't leaving that just for the $$. If either the B12 or ACC becomes open to poaching, that hurts UConn's chances to be anything other than backfill to the ACC. If the B12 cracks, they are done and the remaining schools become the AAC2. Maybe UConn joins that if the $$ is better, but it won't be a true P5 lifeboat. If the ACC cracks, the prospects become a little better. The ACC becomes the Non-C7 Big East plus ACC also rans. There is also a better chance of that more of the ACC core remains. if it is only FSU and Clemson running to a FB first conference. The question then becomes does the ACC replace them or just sit at 12+ND. We know that the remaining teams plus UConn and Cincy would remain a P5 league and probably be alright in FB. Miami probably benefits most, if they get their act together. The $$ would lag for a while until the ACC recovers their content rights, but it would be a significant improvment to our situation over everything except an invite from the B1G or a stabilized B12. None of these fools, know what will happen because right now it's all due diligence at best and the board changes constantly.
