They won't make the tournament with a sub .500 conference record, unless they win the Big East Tournament.

Conference record means nothing. Do you think South Florida is getting in?

conference record, especially sub 500 absolutely means something. as does the eye test. this team is 2-7 in their last 9. rpi and sos mean less when you are limping to the finish line.

Okay. You're right. I'm just telling you what they've said again and again. They've said conference records don't matter because with a 16 team league, records are meaningless. But you, in your infinite wisdom, are probably right.

As to your 2-7 in the last 9. They have 4 games left. Say they lose to Syracuse, but win the others (they are bottom of the BE teams, although who knows). Now they are 5-5, with all of their losses quality ones (Syracuse x2, Louisville (A), Georgetown (A), Marquette (H)).

Look at the other bubble teams. They're terrible. UConn has more top 50 wins than most teams in the country. They have the #1 SOS. They have a top 25 RPI.

Thats exactly my point. A loss in one of the other three and its NIT for this year's huskies. If they beat all three, they will make the NCAAs.

If they go 2-2, I still think they make it (Providence is the one they definitely can't lose).

Look at their RPI and SOS. That matters. A 16-14 Georgia team got in once with the best SOS.

I said this another post. Over the last couple years the selection committee isnt putting any stock into how teams finish the season. They are looking at the "entire body of work" which they should.
