Liam deserves to be there, but so do the other guys. This is just a snapshot in the moment. I wouldn't bet against Liam being there at the end of the season. I can't really argue against any of the players on there. There are some great ones besides Liam left off as well, like Newell and Wright
Incredible freshman class this season. I'm loving it, because it proves that the Transfer Portal isn't the be all end all way to get impact players like so many doofuses proclaim. How many articles Ive read, and pods Ive listened to in the last year saying that coaches don't want to recruit any more and will put all attention on the portal, is such lazy thinking. The opposite is more likely. Recruiting is more important than ever and that finding impact players out of the chute is a better path to sustaining a program. While the portal affords opportunities at quick fix rebuilds (see: Kentucky) they are one year rental hit or miss scenarios. While getting impact Freshmen present one and done issues, there are also chances at retainment. At high majors I figure retaining a recruit for a 2nd year has higher odds than getting a portal impact addition, and the added bonus is experience in the system and culture. I think teams that can walk the tightrope of excellent recruiting and retention with less reliance on the portal, with the portal being used to "round out", instead of "build" will be the teams that have success year over year.
