Just heard we will not play this year (men's or women's) @ Webster in BP.

So what? There's always the Bridgeport regional...

Coming from that end of the state I can assure that it really doesn't change my mind about attending any games. Then again, I am a Boneyarder and I feel the rest of us do not mind as well since we are willing to travel to NYC, or SC, or wherever a great game is set to go down.

So, are we really that mad?
Eh, I think we'll be okay

I plan on attending the regionals...but would have loved to also catch a regular season game in Bridgeport. Living on the NY border and the northern part of the state makes Hartford inconvenient since going to games also usually means rush hour traffic, and Storrs is too far unless it's a weekend afternoon game.

Nice arena. I would go. Only problem I have is the ticket prices are double the regular price for the women and $20 more for the men. It's as if they are trying to remind you that you're in Fairfield County.

“I’ve said since I’ve gotten here that we represent the state,” UConn athletic director Warde Manuel said in October 2013 when the first UConn games at Webster Bank Arena were announced. “It’s important for us to come down here and connect with our fans, with our donors, with our alums — we have 30,000 alums in Fairfield County. It’s just a win-win for us.”

Talk is cheap! Looks like connecting with Ffld County fans, donors and alum really isn't that important after all - if you can't manage to schedule one measly game for us. Strange that Manuel's "win-win" represents a lose-lose for Southwestern CT fans.

The two Husky games I regularly attend (and happily pay a premium to do so) are [were] the Maggie Dixon Classic at MSG and the game at Webster. Next year no game at Webster and the Dixon Classic has moved to a Monday from a Sunday, making it a non-starter as well for the family. Why does someone/s always have to mess up a good thing?

Not scheduling a Bridgeport game is a serious error. Storrs is at the end of the Earth, and parking there is a nuisance. At XL, even a crowd of 9,000 seems small. Webster has pretty nice parking, excellent restaurants nearby, and a smaller capacity so that the WB crowds don't seem to rattle around. AND it's nicely located in a population center, so if a game there isn't a sellout, the area public schools would fill the arena with a last-minute student discount.
