I just read this article that seems to say they believe SyraPitt will play out their Big East obligation through the 2013-2014 season by virtue of analyzing Clemson's recent scheduling:

http://atlanta.sbnation.com/2012/3/31/2916019/clemson-georgia-football-2013-ncaa-acc-schedule

Not sure I am completely following the logic, but I thought it was an interesting perspective. I'm also not sure how I feel about continuing to have the lame-duck status Orange and Panthers in the league anymore, now that we are going to 12 without them. I think I would rather take buyout money. Thoughts?

The writer's rationale is flawed. He believes that by scheduling UGa, Clemson would be giving up a home "scrub" game (as he calls it). He forgets tht it is Syracuse joining the ACC. Clemson now has a new built in scrub game every year. This allows them to schedule who ever they like OOC.
