No Daniels?

What do we make of the Daniels DNP today? Should we only expect to see him in emergency spots going forward? Will he make any meaningful contributions this year?

I hope it's just a matter of getting acclimated to the college game, because as a highly-touted recruit it would be very disappointing for him to end up at the end of the bench like Haralson and Jamal Coombs-McDaniel (two other over-sized wings who failed to make an impact).

I think Blaney is trying to stick to a 8 man rotation of Lamb/Napier/Boat/Drummond/Olander/Roscoe/Oriakhi and either Giffey or Daniels. Giffey was basically a DNP against UL and Daniels against Cuse. I think it's a decent idea but I don't know how he is basing which is playing.

I thought Daniels length could have helped a bit against Cuse and Giffey's hustle and passing some against UL.

My initial opinion of this kid was very high.
Since then, he's done not much.
Does he have potential? Yes.
If he had to be re-ranked, does he make the top 50 in the country? No.

It's definitely our style of play. He looks like he's really good in transition, but we aren't running and we settle in to our half court offense with the over dribble at the top.

There was some fast break chance today and he may have flourished. Who really knows, but I'm sure its in his head right now and he's playing tentative. Maybe next year after JL leaves, he will blossom into the scorer that he showed us briefly at the beginning of the season. This year, not so much.

I kind of wonder if Coach Blaney doesn't forget who has never gotten into the game...maybe that is also why NG barely played last game?

I'm sure his assistants are letting him know, but you would have thought they would have thrown him in there for a minute or two. Maybe he skip a meeting or practice and was benched for the game.
