Been saying this for weeks now. This team is a disgrace and an NIT team. Easily the most underachieving Uconn team in history. There is still time to "right the ship" but who here actually believes that will happen. They will end with 12 - 13 losses. To go from JC's most overachieving team in history to his most underachieving one in less than a calendar year has got to hurt him.

"Disgrace" is a horrible choice of word. A choice that should be reserved for the kind of thing that is going on at Penn State.

Perhaps you're unhappy, like most of us. That's OK. But temper yourself.

These kids are no disgrace to UConn.

It's a game. They're running and playing hard. Their not winning will never "disgrace" the school, because such a damning word has never and can never apply to young men playing a sport.

We're disappointed. I have no doubt that the young men on the team are more disappointed than you or me. But their actions on the court are not disgraceful.

At worst, they show an unpolished devotion. At best, they're just young men who are not up to the athletic challenge posed.

Speaking of grace, show a little sir; these young men are fine representatives of our school, whether or not they beat Georgetown.

Awesome post. If we as fans of UConn aren't going to support the team, what does that say about us?

Husky999 you seem more like a disgrace to me.

The effort is a "disgrace" especially since we were ranked 3 preseason. We have an entire national championship team back (sans Kemba) with the #1 and #7 recruit. So yea... this effort is a disgrace.

I agree with everything you said except "they're running and playing hard". I don't see the consistent effort.

It's not all a question of effort when you lose. We've been grinding on defense for the last two games, but our offense has been abysmal and we're just not making shots that we can make. There were some lack of effort plays (not diving for a loose ball or two bugged me), but when you're in a funk offensively, it isn't because you aren't trying. Drummond was the #1 or #2 recruit based on raw potential, but he's far from polished - and Daniels ended up the #30 recruit or so when the final rankings came in.

Kemba was also pretty good.

I know we have all criticized certain players and the play of the team myself especially. However, the coaching staff has not been making proper adjustments and pushing the right buttons to get players motivated. Calhoun looks like he is resigned to an NIT season. What do they work on in practice I am curious because instead of progression everyone seems to be regressing. The coaches have to do a better job of having the team prepared there is no excuses with the talent on our team. Teams and schools like Murray State, South Florida, Creighton, St. Mary's gonzaga, Harvard are winning with average talent to put it lightly. Inexcusable for us to play this atrocious not even capable of making a shot against teams you should be motivated to play hard against, especially when you were ranked #4 in preseason polls and are unranked now, and still do not put a good effort out there.

You're equating playing hard with making shots - those two things are different things. You can be motivated to play against a team and not make shots - the Final Four was proof of that.

Our effort was by no means perfect - Tyler was the only one who would dive on the floor, we lost a couple boxouts, and we were lazy fighting over screens a couple times (surprisingly Giffey was guilty a couple times, but JL gave us his usual 2-3 lazy closeouts that he's good for every night). But we've had chances in both of these last two games with an offense that's been completely off the suck-o-meter charts, because we are still battling. The way we played on offense tonight, the walk-ons should have been in for both teams in the last two minutes.

I've always been amazed by the rush to be the first guy who says the team stinks, will under achieve, etc. Isn't that the exact opposite of being a fan? You sir are a naf!

This team has some problems, that is woefully obvious, but I'm going to believe that they can turn things around until the last game. It won't be easy, but have a little faith that the guys who gave you a national championship last season didn't spend the summer drinking from the suckiness fountain.

We didnt have a chance in this game since Boatright went out with 2 fouls and Napier came in the game. The game and team went downhill rapidly for us after that . This game wasnt really in reach since then. Boatright needs to play all 40 minutes if possible and Napier at most 20 minutes. Boatright needs to take more shots as he si not taking shots. Lamb is forcing things too much because no one else seems to want to put up a shot and therefore Lamb has been playing horribly himself of late. It is improbable that a turnaround can happen with this team.

I would also like to see more of DD. He seem to penetrate well at times. Though his outside shot is just flat.

Lamb was 6-8 last game (not counting the last miss at the buzzer). He wasn't assertive enough, and then today he was recklessly assertive. If he finds the balance, and strings a couple good games together, then everyone else can play off him and things can maybe fall into place. We can't have Bazz 0-16 from the floor, either, of course.
