So supposedly the goal of this league is to fund at a DII level even though it will be DIII.

This league would be quite different than other North American leagues if it ever happens.

How about a freaking well backed pro rugby league? Would love to see the Harlequins, Saracens, Racing 92, etc, come over here.

3 teams will be in California, 1 here to represent New England, and the rest amongst cities such as Charlotte, Chattanooga, Milwaukee, Phoenix, and St Louis.

Relegation/promotion seems inevitable in the pro circuit here, methinks.

So the nearest opponent will be 1000 miles away. Yup, that will work. If the team isn’t In Hartford there aren’t many stadiums that would hold sufficient attendance (need a lot more than 1K to 2k) to pay the bills in such a league and none of those are particularly attractive or accessible ( Kennedy Stadium, UNH, SCSU, etc.)

The NISA intends to set up a 2nd tier league, as well as a 4th tier league. Just starting with the 3rd. They are competing against the USL's set up.

Yeah, we will have two 3rd Division leagues. We used to have 2 second division leagues.

Gossip I heard is they will be playing at Dodd stadium in Norwich until Mohegan builds a stadium at the old hospital next to the casino. They are also going to be playing through the winter.

I literally lol’d. I suppose Mohegan Sun can afford a net operating loss if it means handing out comps to their gamblers, but who the hell is going to pay barely pro soccer in Norwich in the winter?

LOL. On saturday with was 40 F in North Jersey with a wind chill int he mid 30's F. I had two rec soccer games to coach at the same time so my wife ask me which game is shorter. Thus, I had to coach my older son's team with its 70 minute game while my watch watched my younger son's team play its 60 minute game. That's soccer in the Northeast.

They play soccer in Russia through winter, so I'm sure the weather won't be a problem. Making money will be a big problem. And yes, even young kids play in 20 degree weather. I know our 12 year olds did in Philly in early March.

You are correct about them playing at Dodd. The Philadelphia Fury will play at Franklin Field at Penn. Providence also has a team. I think this league is santioned as III on the pyramid, whatever that means.

Team in Norwich will be called Connecticut United. The San Diego franchise is named after a Will Ferrell Hollywood reference to San Diego, San Diego 1904 FC.
