Came across this article on NPR. Nika's home country seems to be full of history and beauty. Croatia is anxious to repopulate their streets with tourists as they emerge from the pandemic after over a year of uncharacteristic silence. Nika, along with her teammates, will do the same as they welcome back their fans at Gampel. Can't wait to feel the energy of a SRO crowd at our games this year. Preseason last year I commented that I thought Nika would become a fan favorite over her time at UCONN, IMO her personality and energy are made for that environment. Very excited about the coming season and might have to give Croatia a look someday....

Croatia is well worth a visit! Two years ago, we sampled the Adriatic Coast - Split and Trogir, not King's Landing - and it was beautiful. Didn't have time to see Nika's home town of Zagreb, unfortunately. We'll rectify that on our next trip!

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is a Bravo TV series on Monday nights at 9pm EDT. This season the yacht is cruising off the shores of Split. The crew will often have dinner and dancing in the Croatian towns between charters and will sometimes take their guests on shore for beach lunches and shopping trips. This series has maybe 3 more weeks until the season finale.

On Monday June 28 at 9pm EDT, the Below Deck Mediterranean Bravo series returns for a new season of 15-16 weeks where the 150-foot luxury motor yacht will cruise off the same Croatian shores and will go on shore numerous times.

In our travels Croatia was one of the best surprises we've found. It's a must visit area of the world for scenic beauty, history, and "personality," Dubrovnik, Split, Zagreb and coastal towns are charming and the Plitvice Lakes National Park is incredible (Google it). We also went next door to Slovenia, which is like a "little" Switzerland. The capital city Ljubljana, is charming-plus, and Lake Bled is a must visit. If you can, make plans for the near future before it gets mobbed by even more tourists!
