Looks like a sure thing today. Will be interesting to see how the dominos may fall. Would love to see Coutinho at Barca as a fan of the game, but not as an Atleti fan

If I read correctly, the transfer fee that PSG would have to pay Barca would be 222 million. No joke.

I think he's a fantastic player, top 5 in the world likely, but no single player is worth 222 million of a transfer fee. You could stack up 3 elite level players for that type of money. Hell, you could buy all of MLS with that money... (I kid, I kid)

I think he's a fantastic player, top 5 in the world likely, but no single player is worth 222 million of a transfer fee. You could stack up 3 elite level players for that type of money. Hell, you could buy all of MLS with that money... (I kid, I kid)
I saw £198 which at an exchange of £1.32/$1 that's $261+ million. That's insane.

Also saw €222 million which works out to $263 million (€1.19/$1)

Then he gets paid €30 million ($35.5+)/year. If he plays for them for 10 years, that's a $61+ million year investment.

That's basically MLS's combined salary cap for four full seasons. Not counting expenditures for DPs.

I've heard that the Qatari group that owns PSG wants Neymar to be 1) face of PSG and 2) face of the 2022 World Cup...meaning no amount of money is too much. They're betting on Neymar being the best player in the world by 2022; not a crazy concept.

Besides the money, I'm sure Neymar would like to get out of Messi's shadow. Sooner, rather than later. Give him credit, I think he wants to be "the man" and take on that responsibility. Of course the money sure will make the transition easier.

As for PSG, the owners have plenty of money. The only problem is the Financial Fair Play. If they have found a way around that, then it's not a difficult decision.
