Better be ready!

Tomorrow's showdown with South Florida is a big one for both Temple and USF. Both teams need more quality wins to shore up their at-large resume. Too bad the game's on that channel that hardly anyone gets.

That Hampton game on their schedule sticks out---from memory!! Part way though the second half --a Hampton player gave Shea Ralph a forearm to the throat and momentarily disable Shea. The player after much confusion was ejected. No TV replays then. I was video TAPING the games then--and backed it up to see the action--if my recall is correct--Shea a few moment earlier had given this player a shot to the bread basket--not caught by the Refs. But the fans were appalled that an opponent would do such a heinous act to one of OUR more than pure girls. Shea as a player --was not purity--she was one tough mutt. When I (most recently)complained about OUR girls being mauled I was reminded that UConn was not without sin--so stop throwing the first stones!!

I get on on DirecTV. Actually, before CBS bought it, it was CSTV and it was an early carrier of WBB. Carries a lot less, now.

Does Temple now have the second longest winning streak in the nation?
When you win twelve games in a row, that's impressive. Tonya has that program heading in the right direction.

I was intrigued by your question, so:
  • Baylor is on an 18-game win streak (since losing to UConn on 11/17).
  • Harvard has won 16 consecutive games since losing its season opener at Minnesota on 11/12. (And one of those 16 wins was over Temple.)
  • Texas has won 13 straight (since losing to UConn on 12/4).
  • Three other teams on 12-win streaks: South Carolina, Bucknell, New Hampshire.
My search was cursory, so there may be others I've missed.

No Col, Drake, Belmont and FGCU are on 10 game winning streaks, (through yesterday)

Bucknell had an OT against American, so close to not making the list.

Both MD and FL St are on 10 game road winning streaks, tied for second, behind UConn's 34.

Temple is on a 7 game road winning streak, tied for 5th

I think this one could be closer than previous conference games. Dunno.

If Temple plays like they did against USF, they will be too far behind to come back.
