TTP stands for Twin Towers of Power. WCBB may not have seen what UConn will throw at them next season. Stef Kiah Heather Breanna Micala and Morgan. We will be so dominate underneath and the game of the year without a doubt will be Baylor. We will not run out of height and inside dominance next season or for the next couple of seasons. A couple of questions. Will Breanna with her 6'10 wing span block Griners shot? Will our height cause problems for Griner? How will Baylor defend our Twin Towers.? We have alot of talented height and we will be very hard to stop.

Our guards will be second to none. Caroline Bria Kelly and KML Lauren with Moriah coming in makes them silly good. For the next few years UConn will be on another record breaking street. Oh do I have to say without transfers or injuries..nope I hope you understand that. We're Back

Will Breanna with her 6'10 wing span block Griners shot?

Maybe coming from the weak side, but probably not.

Will our height cause problems for Griner?

Not for Griner. But maybe for Baylor.

How will Baylor defend our Twin Towers.?

Well, that is a great question. If you have Dolson at the key and Stewart down low, that will be a problem for everyone. And reverse them and you have the same problem. It will be tough to defend.

I thought Breanna's wingspan was updated to 7' from a reliable source. Really.

Tony u forgot about bre banks...she has a lot of potential. She didn't progress like we thought but freshman sometimes take longer she will be much approved with off season to approve her game trust me she has all the tools to be a good player at uconn.

We are heading into the slow season so all that's left (aside from teams like Baylor who can bask in the glow of a NC) for fans to do is to wax about what next season will bring.

I'm one of those who don't care who starts. i have no skin in that particular game. and frankly, i don't care who "finishes" a game either, since in blowouts it will likely be all reserves. what does Geno say? Play hard, play smart, and have fun? something like that.

but the team next year will have something the last 2 teams lacked - seriously quality depth coming off the bench. Last year it was pretty much Dixon for Dolson. not exactly a recipe for success. this year it was KML in for the guards and Stokes in for the forwards. better, but nothing like what we will have next year.

someone said that our "2nd" team of 5 would be ranked in the top 5. MJ, Brianna, Morgan, Bree and Kiah. i would certainly buy that premise. maybe not top 5 but surely top 10.

i am sure that as the season progresses next year, Geno will see what combos work best in his mixing and matching, but i'd not be surprised to NOT see Kiah and Stef on the court all that much together. Reason being, he's got so much quality depth. Kiah could be SUBBING mostly for Stef since KML probably starts at the 4 and subbing for her would likely be Bree.

so i guess i'm not exactly disagreeing with Tonyc. But against most teams Geno won't "need" Stef and Kiah. and when he does need "twin towers", Bree is actually an inch taller and has a longer wing span than Kiah. i'm just not sure how Geno will compose the most effective players on the court next year, but man, what an awesome problem to have!!

UCONNfan1, I'm not sure I agree with some of your premise. For example I don't see KML starting at the 4. I see the starting line-up actually being fairly fluid until mid February when Geno will finally settle on his starting five.

Pre-February...For most games I see it this way (Geno subs every five minutes as he tinkers with the line-up):
1st half;
1. (Starters): Stefanie Dolson (5), Kiah Stokes (4), Kelly Faris (3), KML (2), Bria Hartley (1)
2. At the five minute mark: Stefanie Dolson (5), Breanna Stewart (4), Kelly Faris (3), KML (2), Bria Hartley (1)
3. At the 10 minute mark: Kiah Stokes (5), Breanna Stewart (4), KML (3), Caroline Doty (2), Bria Hartley (1)
4. At the 15 minute mark: Stefanie Dolson (5), Morgan Tuck (4), Kelly Faris (3), Bria Hartley (2) Moriah Jefferson (1)
2nd half;
1. (Starters): Stefanie Dolson (5), Kiah Stokes (4), Kelly Faris (3), KML (2), Bria Hartley (1)
2. At the five minute mark: Stefanie Dolson (5), Breanna Stewart (4), Kelly Faris (3), KML (2), Bria Hartley (1)
3. At the 10 minute mark: Kiah Stokes (5), Breanna Stewart (4), Kelly Faris (3), Brianna Banks (2), Caroline Doty (2)
4. At the 15 minute mark: Heather Buck / Michala Johnson (5), Morgan Tuck (4), Laura Engeln (3), Brianna Banks (2), Moriah Jefferson (1)

Stefanie Dolson - 25 minutes; Breanna Stewart - 20 minutes; Kelly Faris - 30 minutes; KML - 25 minutes; Bria Hartley - 25 minutes; Kiah Stokes - 20 minutes; Caroline Doty - 10 minutes; Morgan Tuck - 10 minutes;
Moriah Jefferson - 10 minutes; Brianna Banks - 10 minutes; Michala Johnson - 5 minutes; Heather Buck - 5 minutes; Laura Engeln - 5 minutes

In close games and there won't be too many Geno will shorten the line-up to an eight player rotation:
Stefanie Dolson, Kiah Stokes, Breanna Stewart, KML, Kelly Faris, Bria Hartley, Morgan Tuck, Caroline Doty

Mid-February...For most games I see it this way (Geno holds off to sub until the 10 minute mark as he now has a good idea about who and what he has, also he has to plan for the fact that most games will be blow-outs):
1. (Starters): Stefanie Dolson) (5) Breanna Stewart (4), Kelly Faris (3), KML (2), Bria Hartley (1)
2. At the 10 minute mark: Kiah Stokes (5), Morgan Tuck (4), KML (3), Bria Hartley (2) Moriah Jefferson (1)
3. At the 15 minute mark: Kiah Stokes (5), Breanna Stewart (4), Brianna Banks (3), Caroline Doty (2), Moriah Jefferson (1)
2nd half;
1. (Starters): Stefanie Dolson (5), Breanna Stewart (4), Kelly Faris (3), KML (2), Bria Hartley (1)
2. At the 10 minute mark: Kiah Stokes (5), Morgan Tuck (4), Lauren Engeln (3), Brianna Banks (2), Caroline Doty (1)
3. At the 15 minute mark: Kiah Stokes (5), Heather Buck (4), Michala Johnson (3), Brianna Banks (2), Moriah Jefferson (1)

Stefanie Dolson - 20 minutes; Breanna Stewart - 25 minutes; Kelly Faris - 20 minutes; KML - 25 minutes; Bria Hartley - 25 minutes; Kiah Stokes - 20 minutes; Morgan Tuck - 10 minutes; Caroline Doty - 5 minutes;
Moriah Jefferson - 15 minutes; Brianna Banks - 15 minutes; Michala Johnson - 5 minutes; Heather Buck - 5 minutes; Laura Engeln - 5 minutes

In close games and going into the post season there will be a few but not many...Geno shortens the line-up to 8 players
Stefanie Dolson, Kiah Stokes, Breanna Stewart, KML, Kelly Faris, Bria Hartley, Morgan Tuck, Caroline Doty.

Of course, PT is estimated and Breanna Stewart, KML, Bria Hartley will see their minutes decrease in blow-out games and Brianna Banks, Michala Johnson, Heather Buck and Lauren Engeln could see their minutes increase in blow-out games.

Can you be more specific????? :)

What do you want to wager that Doty starts and Stokes doesn't? And Doty gets 15 minutes a game for the season?

I believe you are underestimating the value Geno sees in Doty's minutes.

I think it will be cool (interesting) to see Dolson, Stewart and Stokes/Tuck on the court at the same time. :)

Geno will have some great combinations next year.

I'm looking forward to Jefferson, Lewis, Stewart, Dolson and Tuck.

You might be selling Jefferson a little short here. I think she will push Doty and Banks for minutes. She is supposedly one of the top PGs to come out of HS in a long time. We'll see though.

Yea, Moriah is definitely going to get more than 10 minutes a game. Geno is grooming her to be the PG, probably starting her sophomore season, so Bria can move to the 2. CD will probably start, but I can see MoJeff and Bria playing the bulk of the minutes in the backcourt.

I see LOTS of full court pressure in our future! :)

Talking about Caroline. She should be much better next season and if she is look for her to score more. I go agree as a senior she will get her minutes, after all shes earned them. I also see Moriah getting her share of minutes and her share of Genos tuffness. Watching Simms I was thinking about how much better Moriah might be. Thats pretty scarey especially on a team with the personnel UConn will have for the next 4 seasons. Something else to think about. Im hoping Diamond and Saniya come and that will be silly.

lol DD... I knew when I engaged in the exercise that it was impossible to predict what Geno will do and how well our new additions will adapt to the college game. So, I combined how fast I think our incoming recruits will adapt to UConn's style of play as well as their ability to handle the speed and power of the college game and what I think Geno will do given the difficult task of determining the best line-up while he balances out the playing time in a way that will keep all his future stars happy. I do believe that Geno will be faced with a very difficult decision with regards to Caroline Doty. When Geno and his staff studies the 2nd half of the year stats they will not be able to escape noticing the decline in Doty's productiveness. I know Geno likes to remain loyal to his seniors and I know that he totally appreciates and likes to reward the kind of sacrifice, loyalty, and leadership that Doty provides to the Huskies. However, with that being said, both Geno and Caroline will find themselves confronted with a very difficult decision. Cutting down on Doty's PT for the good of the team. I wouldn't be surprised if Doty doesn't tell him that she is willing to play less minutes. She is competitive but she is not stupid and she is a team player and leader. Geno knows in his heart that Doty is a great kid with the heart of a champion whose heart is stronger and bigger than what her knees allow. I believe he will cut Doty's minutes....she may still start at the beginning of the season but that will change by the time we get to the second half of the season. Of course, this is just my opinion.

No, I am not selling Moriah Jefferson short...I believe she will be a great UConn point guard...but, UConn is not guard challenged. There are unfortunately for Moriah, a few guards that Geno will remain loyal to and he will make sure they get their playing time. On the other hand, Geno knows what side of his bread is buttered on and he will be sure to give Moriah minutes in each game and he will give her more minutes in blow-outs as he will want to position her as a starter in 2013-14 season. JMHO

I think she will start AND her minutes will go down. I'm thinking 15 a game.

"I do believe that Geno will be faced with a very difficult decision with regards to Caroline Doty. "

You got that right. Along with a few other tough decisions on playing time.

I agree that Moriah will get more than 10 minutes in some games especially those games where UConn has a large lead. Keep in mind that there are a few quality guards that are ahead of Moriah and Geno likes to reward longevity and loyalty. He tries to take care of his seniors. If you look at the minutes chart I move Moriah's minutes from 10 to 15 in the second half of the season. These are average minutes per game. Remember in tight games Geno will shorten the bench and he will go with proven veterans. As the season wears on I expect that Moriah's talent will emerge and and her minutes will increase. I don't see her getting the starting job her freshman year. I don't see her getting starters minutes her freshman year unless the game is a blow-out early and Geno can get her in early. I do, however, see Geno being very diligent in making sure she plays in every game and that she gets her share of minutes. It is going to be hard for MoJeff to get the bulk of the minutes when she will be competing with Bria, Faris, KML, Doty, Engeln and Brianna. She will be somewhere between Bria, KML, Faris and Doty, Engeln and Brianna. Again this is JMHO.

Moriah is going to be interesting. I don't see her as a key to next year's team, but she is a key for the next three after that. When you talk about game changers, she actually may be such a player; it's conceivable that she could change the way the position is played before she leaves Storrs. It just may take some time to harness all that speed and handle and get her to see the floor the way Geno wants her to see it.

Fortunately, if we're talking about getting a glimpse of the future as opposed to who needs to play with the game on the line (which might happen all of five times next season), there will be many opportunities to play a kid like Moriah. Or maybe her play will just demand playing time. Bottom line, if you leave games early next season, you might be missing the best part.

I think Moriah is going to be moved into the immediate rotation and Geno will let her play through mistakes, like he did with KML this season. Not a starter, but probably one of the first off the bench, if not the first guard in. Bria and CD will share duties at first, then Moriah will come in and share with Bria. I think she will have to be on the court a LOT to get the feel for how to run the offense, defense, etc, and to get her teammates used to playing with her out there. She is the PG for the next three years after CD graduates, IMO, and as such will get big minutes in all the games.

Of course, she could be like Maria Conlon and not play much her first two seasons then take over her last two. But I think she is too talented for that.

I am probably biased, as I want to see some Texas girls head up to UConn, and Moriah doing well might be key to that!

It's going to be difficult for Geno to hold down the score on some opponents next year. Jefferson is going to need to get plenty of minutes to prepare her for her starting role the following season.
