Seriously?? [HEADING=2]The next great Olympic sport? It could be cornhole[/HEADING] I'll admit there are numerous Olympic sports I've just never understood how they made it to the Olympics as an actual event - Curling, synchronized swimming, rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline, competitive walking, etc. Don't get me wrong - it takes tons of talent to do any Olympic sport, but if those sports can make it, I guess why not Cornhole? Competitive darts, Axe throwing, Poker, what else? Cliff diving? I've seen all of them on ESPN at various times. Must be popular, since they wouldn't be televised if no one watched... How about splash Olympics (do cannon balls off the high meter platform from diving) to see who can make the biggest splash? Style points awarded like in skateboarding and snow boarding? Arm wrestling? Not that far from regular wrestling. Sumo? Big advantage to Japan, but still would be fun. They already have ping pong - how about beer pong??!! They have field hockey, hand ball, baseball and softball, but no cricket? They have water polo and dressage/etc. but no horse polo (side note - I think UCONN has has a few NC's in this event)? This Olympics they added skateboarding, karate (surprising that wasn't already in since they have judo, wrestling and boxing), surfing, and sport climbing (as in climbing rocks etc). ON edit - they also added 3 x 3 basketball - how could I forget that?? Gold medal for Steph Dolson!!!! I think it would be fun to add an "American Ninja Warrior" obstacle course an do that - way more exciting than just plain rock climbing. If they have speed skating, why not roller blade racing? Maybe car racing? Or go-carts could be fun. Or beach dune buggy racing? What other Olympic sports don't you get (ie. shouldn't have them)? What realistic sports should be added? What crazy sports should be added? I bet the BY'ers could come up with some clever things.
