A balanced, fair article on the issue of parity and the double standard applied to women's sports in general and UCONN women's basketball in particular. Nice quotes from Geno. Sorry I cannot upload it but in today's New York Times

Great scene relayed between Pitino and Walz 3 years ago after the final (Uconn by 33) - Pitino saying 'In our sport, Stewart would be playing in the NBA next year, in yours, you have to face her three more years.'

What makes the scene more poignant (from the woman's point of view) is that Rick says she'd be in the NBA after a season and Jeff retorts the lament of having to face her for 3 more years.

Highlight of the piece

Great article from top coaches. Address later why all four coaches are male? That's going to be a challenge.

I find it deeply ironic that in the same issue of the Times in which there is an article commenting on all the misbehaving of schools in this year's men's Final Four, Rick Pitino is quoted in another article as someone who offers wise observations. I get apoplectic just thinking about him, so I'll stop here.
