IIRC, wore 90 or 91. Didn't play much from scrimmage but did play special teams as an upperclassman.

Seems like a good fit.

First time he screws up and gets called out in a coach's meeting, will this happen?

Worked with HC Greg Gattuso the last few season. Gattuso worked with Edsall at Maryland.

I like this choice a lot. Like Wholley, Aaron is a returning alumnus who has recruited the northeast. Albany had a 7-4 team that beat Buffalo, URI, UNH and Stony Brook and Smith was the recruiting coordinator.

I'm happy with this choice too.. keep the UConn alumn tree associated with the coaching staff...

Apparently he was my classmate at UConn but I don't recall his name. Welcome back home, Aaron.

Father was a career military officer and Aaron spent a bunch of time at West Point - I think. He was a top student at UConn and a walk-on (like Wholley) AFTER transfer from Maryland (so he was in College Park before 2004). Was a Grad Student with Edsall and obviously connected with BC guy we knew and then Gattuso. UAlbany has long been a veritable font of coaching for the northeastern US from the previous HC Bob Ford. Sparano came through and Rossmondo and Sean Ryan at the Texans. Bill Parcells was a Ford friend as were the Mara's and Tisch's. Giants training camp was long in Albany because Ford cultivated many.

Not sure Sparano rolled through Albany but Rossomondo and Sparano both flowed through University of New Haven.

Oh wait - you mean Tony Jr?

just a little bad memory ... both Sparano sons played at UAlbany. The NFL HC that was an assistant at Albany wasn't Sparano; it was Dave Campo.
