Yes there is.

The organization has won 3 World Series, in `924, 1987 & 1991.
The Washington Senators baseball team was one of the American League's eight charter franchises. Now known as the Minnesota Twins, the club was founded in Washington, D.C. in 1901 as the Washington Senators.

Starting in 1901, the eight charter teams of the AL were the following:
  • Baltimore Orioles.
  • Boston Americans (not an official nickname)
  • Chicago White Stockings.
  • Cleveland Blues.
  • Detroit Tigers.
  • Milwaukee Brewers.
  • Philadelphia Athletics.
  • Washington Senators.
