As you should have seen from my posts on this subject, I grew up in Fairfield county, in the decidedly working class section.  My father dropped out of HS to join the marines in 1942.  My mother worked in a factory that made fighter/bombers.  After the war, dad worked as a machinist and mom became a homemaker.  Approximately 25% of my senior class at Stratford HS went to college, a number far less than the percentages for towns like New Canaan, Westport, Greenwich and Fairfield.

I made no judgement about Caroline Lau or anyone else in my posts about New Canaan.  My sole purpose was to present demographic information to another poster who was unfamiliar with New Canaan.

Finally, as for the handful of kids from New Canaan, Staples, Fairfield Prep and other high end HS’s in Fairfield County that can’t get into Ivy League schools because a number of their classmates have already been accepted, it’s really hard for me to have any sympathy for these unfortunate kids who end up at lowly schools like Colgate, Amherst and (God forbid) Fairfield University.
