UConn is so lucky to have Benedict..he comes across as very smart and logical. I love his thoughts on the possibility of a G5 playoff.

I know you don’t want to ask questions that he really can’t answer….but it would have been interesting to hear more from DB about why UConn decided that Fenway was the right bowl. Were there other options? What does he take into considertation when making the decision?

In listening to this I began wondering if UCONN could be the epicenter to bring high level attention to all that is currently challenging college athletics. UCONN with its preeminant basketball programs and great coaches along with the President could be in a unique position to bring national attention to the many issues facing college athletics.

DB is exactly right, it's a small percentage of the overall number of athletes that are driving a lot of challenges. Most of them are not students in almost any sense. He's also exactly right that by schools looking to exploit rules for advantage they are impairing the games as a whole. Eventually all will suffer. It will take real leadership and courage to address this and maybe UCONN with its leadership and lack of a football conference can be the voice to start serious discussion........take on the BiG and SEC 😉

Very nice Jared. I give DB tons of credit for hopping on a call on New Years’s Day and providing thoughtful answers. He understands part of his mission is to educate and communicate with fans such as us Boneyarders.
