When I hear the periodic complaint that our states directional colleges don't get the same support that our state's flagship university does I shrug as it seems to be more of an issue of unrealistic expectation than allocation of funds. I do think that the state would benefit from an integrated higher education vision for all state colleges, and universities. Maybe it exists and I'm just not aware of it, but it seems to me that there almost seems to be a situation where every entity competes for resources and students instead of having an overarching plan that'll allow us to concentrate resources more effectively.
