If you really think FOX got UConn for pennies your hugely mistaken UConn's distribution and what is costing them are two different things Their cost for us is $77,000,000 minus whatever they would have paid the Big East without UConn and thats apples and oranges. Would the Big east even gotten an increase without us? So its costing them $15-20Million to keep UConn in the Big East but the cost is the least of their worries. Their numbers guys concerns is where can they make us the best ROI My numbers say we make and earn more in a bigger market conference but they should have better data than me. A conference where women's basketball is a rising star. Growth is always an easier selly hope were pitching Its the ROI that you base a decision on. plus The downside risk to them of serious devaluation of the Big East if we exit. UConn obviously has significant monetary value thats a fact . A second rate conference with 1/2 the teams a low option in their market or in small markets are getting paid more per team for basketball than the alleged best basketball conference in better markets UConn football is the problem and it’s self inflicted . . Let me give you a hint ; It’s a lot easier with a good hire and investment to become fairly competent in a sport even at FBS level if an infrastructure is in place . Then to become one of most dominant programs in a major sport history which is what UConn is . If the Big 12 monetized basketball which all conference will do given the Big East deal and their perceived superiority Having UConn in that mix is a plus . UConn not only has a dominant team in men’s but women’s team whose basketball ratings rival most men’s teams .
