-> On Thursday, the former UConn classmates announced the latest NIL collective to benefit student-athletes: "Bleeding Blue for Good." The nonprofit collective is aimed at helping UConn student-athletes with NIL activity while also benefiting local, underserved communities through charitable events such as sports clinics and speaker appearances. <-

->The collective’s goal is to host an event once a month and partner with various charities across the state. It’s also focused on involving an entire team from UConn instead of just individual athletes at events. So while UConn has NIL leaders such as Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd, this collective is providing opportunities for entire rosters.

Right now the collective is working with the men's and women's basketball teams, but both Greenblatt and Malfettone hope to work with other sports teams, too.<-

Based on my understanding of the article it appears that the collective allows people to donate money to it and in return the collective creates a charity event with some of the money and then gives the other portion of the money to athletes who attend/ participate in the event. Is this correct?

Can someone tell me — what is the best way for the average fan to support NIL initiatives so we can give our players the most lucrative opportunities? Is it paying for gear, going to opendorse and asking for shout out videos, or just writing a monthly check to one of the collectives?

It’d be great to see everyone from the boneyard get behind the answer, and do something small on a recurring basis to reach some scale.
