Didnt see this posted yet. Great news.

This is fine as long as they don't need to remove, modify or breath on the Pantoni tiles.

Wish they would fix the ceiling. It looked really bad last time I saw it on TV.

Surprised they haven't banned flatulence at Gampel. All that methane can't be good for those tiles.

Put some huge banners over it for now

Totally. I've even floated the idea (to no one in particular) that they should paint the brown parts white as a temporary solution. Once they manage to mystically re forge those glorious Patoni tiles, then they could just take off the paint. That way, at least it wouldn't look like an old manky toilet bowl.

Could they do what us poor suckers with cedar shakes on our house do? That is, paint over the decay so at the very least it's not so noticeable?

In the old days turning off the house lights in the Field House during the game added to the atmosphere. Now the lights are on 24/7 and they're blinding. I once asked the AD's office why they didn't turn them off during the game and the reply was 'for safety reasons'.

Was anyone else at the game at Gampel years ago when there was a sudden blackout during game play? The opposing team had just put up a long jump shot and then instant and total blackness. Nobody even knew if the shot went in or not. After 30 seconds the cell phones started lighting up. PA asked everyone not to panic. It took a while before the lights came up again.

This happened to UConn twice ( football @NC, we were wining) and also in bb @ NC. Coincidence? We will never know.

That was back when unauthorized groping was still in vogue.
