To me it's Duke in 04 #1 and Kentucky in 11 1a or #2 and all else get in line. But yes, my wife who has adopted UConn (we live in Florida and she is a Vol for life) was like I can't take many more of these, she was feelin stressed!

I had to work the Gonzaga game so never saw that one, but I read one of u guys reference KEA was like 0-for-11 or something insane!

I literally had FF game and plane tickets in my pockets watching us almost lose that game. That's #1 by a long shot for me. That was the most brutal win in history because it seemed like an eternity to get that monkey off our backs, and we almost blew it down the stretch. IIRC KEA had a terrible game, but nonetheless characteristically ran to JC and kissed him and said something to the effect of "This was for you."

Good points here. That 06 team even had trouble with Albany. Such a talented but flawed unit.

I was just about to post Clemson. Instead, I'll nominate the 2011 NC Championship game against Butler (especially the first half), and the 1996 first-round game against Colgate.

Good call on Clemson.

I'm willing to bet that a few of our regular season wins against Miami in the 1990's and Cincinnati during the last 10 years should be on this list, too.

This was the worst UCONN win I've seen in my 35 years of following the Huskies. Winning ugly, but still winning. Win and advance. I have to think we're due for a great performance.

Iowa in 1999 champ. run was no picnic either. I remember them being real physical and our side taking a beating without the officials noticing much.

wasn't there a UMass game where we were down 32-9 at half

Agree on the 2011 championship game. That might have been the ugliest display of basketball on the biggest stage. Glad I was there and not watching on TV to understand how bad it really was until after the fact.

2011 championship vs. Butler.

It might not have been "painful", since by mid-way through the second half we had a double-digit lead and knew we were going to win, but that was the ugliest game I've seen, maybe even uglier than today.

The 1970 slowdown game vs. Rhode Island. I believe the final score was 35-32. The week before three of our starters were thrown off the team for allegedly stealing something. The charges were later dropped, but we had to play the Rams at the Field House for the Yankee Conference title without them. I'm pretty sure the score was something like 14-11 at halftime. That was Dee Rowe's rookie season as our head coach. URI grew more and more frustrated the longer the game went on. They had a good, athletic team. I'm not sure, but I don't know if the Rams ever had a lead in that game, and if they did it was very brief and very early on.

Good call. I had to give a closing argument in my first trial the next day but I obviously had to watch the game. I ended up using Iowa's fouling us down the stretch as an analogy to my opponent's constant objections to the evidence I had that gutted his case. Clearly at least a few jurors had watched the game, and I won a pretty improbable verdict.

1996 BEC against Georgetown. Smacked around the gym all night, down by eleven with four minutes to play. Ray Allen's game winning prayer at the end was his first basket of the night, IIRC. Then GTown had a layup at the buzzer that missed.
