I saw South Carolina vs Duke.....Both will have to get a lot better to run with the Big Dogs (no pun intended) by March/April. However , I would still give South Carolina the top spot for now in the poll until they lose. They have talent and they have a good coach. But they play down to opponent levels too often , and play too many close heart stopping games for comfort. I fear they will do that one time too often and get beaten.

I think UConn should have gotten more consideration for No. 1 after beating the No.2 team (ND) by 18pts , in South Bend no less , than South Carolina beating the then No. 9 team by one(1) point.

But I can see the poll keeping them at No.1 until they are beaten.

They love keeping UConn down. It's become tradition among the "elites."

A friend texted me over the weekend and said that whoever made out Duke's schedule should be shot in the head.

Duke played #1, 4, and 12 this past week... and play #2 and #8 later this month. Then off to play #5, 6 (twice), and 10 in the conference season.

1) we wont challenge for the top spot in the poll.... but we have a good chance to finish #1 in the all important SOS poll

2) Duke hands down will be the best 10 loss team in the country at years end

Triad , your friend has a point..........Did he say how many times the scheduler should be shot in the head ? Certainly multiple times is in order. Duke will be battle-tested come Tournament time. Hopefully JPM will have them mentally ready. Which is always their problem. They should have beaten SC.

Your team has the talent to make the Elite 8.....If you can keep Williams on the floor and out of foul trouble.

Don't you hate playing the little sisters of the poor, though? Winning 90-26 or 99-41 isn't any fun.

The one thing I don't understand is how Texas picked up 3 first place votes. I know they beat TENN but.....

Well the only reason we beat ND was that I DVR'd it and watched it later. It's all about the mojo, baby.

And the nervous tension.....(I did the same thing, Meyers....)

Wowzers! I thought I was the only (slightly crazy) mojo observer. I DVR'd the game, but watched the score on the ESPN app. Worse, I couldn't bring myself to mess with mojo by watching the NCAA final either.

I, for one, dressed up mini chick and tattooed her face knowing full well that her skin could break out even though we did Christmas pictures yesterday. :p And yes, I had trouble getting the tattoo off, finally getting it finished as we were about to leave for pictures. Well worth it, though. Well worth it.

Texas picked up first place votes, because ND lost, South Carolina wasn't impressive beating Duke and UConn has lost. Some voters will not vote for a 1 loss team if they have a choice to vote for an undefeated competitive team. Texas is that team and I understand them getting 1st place votes. After all they did beat Stanford at Stanford, who UConn lost to. :)

UT is done with the tough part of their schedule. Except for Baylor, it's all creampuffs. They won't be tested again until the end of the season, when they start playing someone good. Until then we will have to bare with them in the top.
Too bad, cause they haven't yet proved they belong there. Stanford and Tennessee are not the end all this year.

somebody's got to counter the ESPN oh so obvious pro-UConn bias. It will all work out in the end, and if USC doesn't lose before they play UConn, that will be when it happens.

Depends on who put up the 26 or 41. Some pretty highly ranked teams have walked off the court after playing UConn with totals not far off from the numbers you mentioned. You'll find out about that next year. ;)
