He was coming back from an injury and it also seemed like his AAU coach was often playing him out of position. The mental and emotional state of a player can have a huge impact on his performance. If the player is struggling with his coach and teammates, it can really impact his performance. I'm not sure if that was in play. He seemed to get very little PT some games, and more in others. That might point to either physical or mental/emotional state of Jackson. Or a third, and most undesirable, is he's not as talented as most thought which is being exposed by the increased level of competition.
KO's track record in spotting talent is solid, so I'm guessing it's some combination of the first two factors I listed above. As for the person who hopes that WJ will look elsewhere, that's not something one should post here. Now granted, most of us want to get players who are capable of playing well at this highest college level and want the most talented who fit our program. But once there's an agreement between both KO and the recruit, I would want our coach and program to display the highest level of integrity and honor that commitment as long as the player wants to be a Husky and his academics are in order.
As for the list of interested recruits, KO has compiled an impressive list. Now getting commitments compared to just interest is a whole different story, though I have a great deal of confidence that KO will begin to close the deal on the recruits he wants. I'm assuming for some of them that play the same position, KO has or at some point will say the first one, (or 2 if he's recruiting more than one at a given position), to commit gets the ship. Like many, I like what I've heard and seen with Adams, but at some point in the process, even if KO feels the same, he's going to tell him along with the other PGs, that whoever says "yes" first, get's the spot.
Although there's nothing like watching our Huskies win, especially when we're the last team standing, I do enjoy the recruiting hunt and bagging talent that fits our program and continues our success. It's great to be a Husky fan, that's for sure!!!
