I get it.

We are all very very fatigued about the CR world. And, we are angry about the UConn placement "as the world turns".

But ... we do have a GREAT 2013 schedule. I am not going to miss Syracuse. They brilliantly oversold their market and future. Read the Insider's guidebook that High School Seniors are reading. A depressed Central NY city that the students don't want to leave campus. A region where Life Companies haven't done Term loans on most retail for the last 10 years. Townies make up a lot of their board ... the alums run away when they get the degree. They don't penetrate Albany or Buffalo; rarely Rochester. They will be a drag in Football. I get why Pitt was fun to beat. They have potential that they keep puking on. So ... a SMU or a UCF? I don't know. What did we trade? I feel like Billy Beane asking for 3 years worth of soda.

We need a solid Paul Pasqualoni effort. We need an AD who can evaluate and then ... transition us into a Vibrant Solid Program. That's for sure. I am tired of Nelson. But, I am also tired around here of folks saying they are not going to games. You're replaceable. We (UConn) have markets we haven't tapped. Let's get that August camp started.

I don't know about Nelson, but when HFD ever mentioned that he doesn't buy tickets and hardly goes to the games my head almost exploded. I mean WTF!!!!

This year's American is just as good as last years Big East, 6 of the 8 teams are back and UCF could be very good this year. Our main Rival (Rutgers) is coming to the Rent and Louisville could easily be undefeated and ranked in the top 8 when they come to the Rent with a Heisman candidate.

If you can't get cranked up for this season its time to turn your man card in and start wearing a dress.

VIP's all on their way to Newport now, coach and captains will be back at Rentschler tomorrow evening. Camp starts Wednesday.

30 Days till kickoff against Towson at Rentschler

46 Days til kickoff against Maryland at Rentschler

53 Days til kickoff against Michigan at Rentschler

in 54 days, we will have a very good idea as to how things are progressing with the football program.

I don't think anyone can complain about this year's schedule. With Michigan coming to town, Rutgers and Louisville at home, we have the potential to have 3 top 25 games at Rentschler Field. Maryland will be interesting, and the remainder of the schedule will be interesting because we've never played some of those guys and a few have had some good streaks recently. Nelson's concern, which is legitimate, is really long term. How does a league that really consists mostly of former C-USA members raise itself above C-USA level in both the public mind and on the field, and how do you do it when the deck is decidedly stacked against you? That , though, doesn't mean that the 2013 season might not be one of the best we've seen in years. Throw in a new offense, what should be a solid defense again, and it is also pretty exciting to look forward to 2013. I think you really need to separate the upcoming season from the disaster that is the AAC going forward.

Debbie's piss me off, and I especially despise Debbie's that try to find ways to disguise their Debbieness. Nothing attracts negative energy suckers like the potential to fail to meet expectations - in anything.

I expect to win the AAC and go to a BCS game this year. I expect to beat top 25 programs, at home and on the road. I expect to be a top 25 program - regularly - annually, regardless of what our conference letterhead says.

I expect to win the AAC next year, and every year thereafter, that we are part of the league, and I expect to win whatever league we are in, every year, and be part of the post season bowl system - what ever it may be - because it's going to change, and change a lot in the future, and we will be part of it, somehow, when we win. Not only do I expect to win to get there, I expect to win, in whatever post season games we compete.

And truthfully, winning the AAC, is not going to be any easier, than winning the Big East was. There is a good chance, it will be harder, but I still expect the University of Connecticut football program, to win it, every year.

That's what I expect, and what I look forward to.

I am so jacked for this season. Once Towson leaves, it's going to get REALLY fun at the Rent. 8+ wins is the goal. Sellout rowdy crowds for MD, UM, RU and UL (hopefully others too once the fairweathers come back to the stadium). Time to change our perception of being a fair-weathered fanbase and bleed some ' blue.
