Want to know what I consider P's biggest indictment as a talent evaluator? Not going all in with this kid as true freshman. Instead he goes with a junior walk on of limited ability because he Gave us supposedly us the best chance to win games. That first year was his year to evaluate as many young players as possible with no pressure. Instead, he glued him to the bench after burning his red shirt, then he brings in Whitmer from juco and makes him the starter with no real competition, which as head coach is his right. Problem is When you watch that performance against Temple you realize this kid is every but the passer Whitmer is, and a much better runner. Should have developed him that first year and see where we would be year three.

I don't look at anyone on,the, schedule and think we can win. I only hope we can win.. Look forward to P telling us how they have looked at the film and corrected mistakes. It is so comforting.

Yup. There isn't a single game that I am completely confident we can win and that is very sad.

This kid should have been given a chance to show what he can do in a complete game. Another PP screw-up. Had he stuck with us, I am very confident he'd be our QB over Bowtie Chandler.

P never gave Nebrich a chance. He promised him a full second quarter at Vandy and gave him one series, then send Mac back in. He didn't even let him play the 4th quarter against WVU with UConn trailing by 30 points. He lied to kid and then nailed him to the bench, all while Mac went 8 consecutive quarters without registering a TD.

This is my biggest gripe with P. (and there are a few). He doesn't give kids a chance. Even after Nick Williams saved the team with two sensation TDs against Buffalo, he never made Nick a meaningful part of the game plan until the following year.

Pals, post is spot on. For whatever reason, once he formulates a depth chart it is etched in stone. Doesn't matter if a kid comes in for a play or two and looks like he could be a contributor or if the person ahead in the depth chart is not performing. When your not winning, I'd search high and low for those capable of making plays during games. This past week we saw Ashiru, look faster and be more of a playmaker than the person ahead of him. And yes he did get washed by a WR on a long gainer by their QB. Wished he gave more guys a look going back to his first year.

Nebrich looks like a similar passer to Whitmer, but a better runner. Hard to see why he didn't get more chances.

I will never agree with Palatine's belief that you can tell if someone has been given a fair chance just from seeing games without being at practice. That having been said, is there good reason to believe that once the decision was made to burn Nebrich's redshirt we would have been much better off developing him -- heck yes. You could always tell he had the wheels to be dangerous moving around with the ball. We just never saw him throw enough to truly judge.

Marcus Easley is the best example, got to give someone a chance in the game to see what they can do

Heres something funny. Sagarin ratings have Temple 0-3 rated above Fordham 3-0. By a lot.

That usually works better than a few snaps in the Spring Game after working with the 2nd unit in practice.
