I agree the phrasing is horrible. While the timeline of the announcements, as stated is correct, phrasing it in this manner feels like they were looking for clicks instead of reporting. That's quite an inference made by womenshoopworld...Love was suspended with pay for an undisclosed infraction and whatever that means but to have this social media entity make this kind of statement certainly leads to speculation (and not the good kind!).
Or 1 + 1 = 3. Or 1 + 1 = 11.One + One = 2.
No longer appears on the roster list on the website. It just confirms that the player is no longer part of the team. What is "removed from the roster."
My impression is that she voluntarily left the team. What is "removed from the roster." Did the school terminate her scholarship. i.e. "fire" her?
This could end up biting the school in the butt - hard.
People are being very careful to say nothing to the press.
I would like to remind people that the rule against harmful speculation, that which could damage reputations, is against the rule on this board, too.
Nebraska women's basketball coach on suspension of assistant, removal of player
Amy Williams, the head coach of the Nebraska women's basketball team, responds after two big names are off the bench.www.ketv.com
They played well after their loss to Penn State if memory serves correct. I took that as a positive sign with the BIG10 tourney fast approaching.Yes, they are. And one can bet school lawyers are very much reminding them on exactly how to phrase things until matters are "in accord." That said, everything I've seen and/or heard tell me the embers -- no matter how matted -- are pretty intense.
Hope some degree of compartimentalization is possible and the team can move forward on what had been a competitive season.
