3 minutes left in game 71 -70 MD on BTN. but Nebraska fought back from 16 down. Love what Coach Williams is doing. with Nebraska Running rings around Frese.

Nebraska just hit a THREE to give the Huskers a lead..

2 clutch free throws by Jones gives MD 76-75 on dubious call. 26 seconds left.

Hmm...Nebraska can tie with a FG...and win with a THREE. Thanks for the heads up about how this game was winding down. It's better than the other games on at the same time.

77-75 Maryland with 0:13 left. Possession Nebraska out of the timeout.

They went for the win with a three and missed. Game over.

Yes. This win would have put NB into the tournament easily. :(

Nebraska's game-winning 3 was just a little too strong.

Tough loss for them. The Huskers will be sweating it out on selection day.

They deserve to be in. Their road record is impressive.

Unless they win the Big Ten tournament, which isn't totally out of the question.

They just might get another shot at MD in the semis of the Big Ten tourney. Apparently the seedings will be:
  1. Ohio State 13-3
  2. Maryland 12-4
  3. Nebraska 11-5 (wins tiebreaker over Iowa on 2-0 H2H)
  4. Iowa 11-5
  5. Minnesota 10-6 (assuming they beat Illinois, they'll hold tiebreaker over Michigan on 1-0 H2H)
  6. Michigan 10-6
  7. Indiana 9-7 (wins tiebreaker over Purdue on 2-0 H2H)
  8. Purdue 9-7
  9. Rutgers 8-8 (assuming they beat Northwestern; even if they don't, they hold tiebreaker over Michigan St)
  10. Michigan State 7-9
Nebraska could get another shot at Michigan in the quarters, whom they lost to on free throws in the final second on a very questionable foul call.

No, Minnesota just needs to beat Illinois to lock up the #4 seed.
Minnesota and Illinois have yet to play their last game.

Minnesota record currently at 10-5.

Kissinger went down re-injuring her left knee. Not sure how central she is to the team or the status of the injury?

Oops my bad. Yes Minnesota would be 11-5 with a win today. And then apparently they finish 2nd in the 3-way tiebreaker with Nebraska and Iowa based on round robin winning percentage.

Still, doesn't change the fact that Nebraska is the 3rd seed and would likely face Michigan in quarters and potentially Maryland in semis.

They could do it. Cain looked to be in early foul trouble so she wasn't even a big factor today.

Nebraska has the best road record in the Big Ten.

Final Big Ten Standings

Rutgers finishes the regular season on a very bad loss at Northwestern. They might need to beat Purdue in their first game of the Big Ten tourney in order to salvage their NCAA at-large bid.

As an interesting wrinkle, missing out on the NCAA might be the only way Rutgers can realistically get Stringer to 1,000 this season, via the WNIT.

I don’t see how Rutgers makes the NCAAs being the 9th best in conference. They’ve crashed and burned late season.

Hopefully Maryland has finished laying their eggs for the season and gets their act together for the tournament. I mean, my daughter has to have something to get excited about. The men aren't doing well. She does have lacrosse to look forward to, though. ;)
